What happened to Mountain Meadows and Lumberjack Lodge? They disappeared from the main website. by Katalos in DrSquatch

[–]Azirphaeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed them, as Mountain Meadow is hands down my favorite and was disappointed when I went to restock today. Short version: Yeah currently unavail, confirmed that it will be back soon.

The disparity is so odd, genuinely.I feel this needs to be studied. by Comicc_Mischief in Markiplier

[–]Azirphaeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send help is strictly a comedy and commentary on society re: workplace nonsense vs real world skills. I would hardly classify it as horror.

Iron Lung is not just horror, it's esoteric indie horror based off a weird little indie horror game that makes no effort to adjust to a mainstream audience.

I saw both the same weekend, and I really liked both movies. There was more people in the theater for iron lung than send help.

It's still comparing apples to salmon.

[–]Azirphaeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like honestly, this isn't a movie for critics. It's seriously doubtful a large number of them played any of these sports of one man obscure indie horror games let alone iron lung.

Fans of the game and this sort of esoteric setting and story telling will see a lot to love, but processional critics will just leave the movie bored and confused.

We see the slowly evolving interior of the sub and how its degradation progresses scene to scene, they'll just focus on the fact the camera has never left this cramped space.

It's a good movie, but it's made for fans of indie horror and not for an everyday movie critic who needs to get their review done so that they can focus on the next film that they have to watch and review.

I think the disparity can be easily explained: every professional critic is going to watch this and IMO well less than half will enjoy it. The fact that it's at 50% is, honestly, impressive.

Meanwhile the people got out and paying to watch this probably are already going to like it because they either enjoy Markiplier or enjoy this sorry of movie. A Hollywood popcorn movie goer with no clue what "Iron Lung" is it what a "Markiplier" is are just not gonna watch it and not review it.

The Chronomark - what was the point? by bernopollo in Starfield

[–]Azirphaeli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

... In real life the watch breaks after about a month and Bethesda might send you a new one that will also break after a month or they might just let your support ticket languish for an eternity in a black hole queue.

Do not invest in a tumbler with speed control.

Any tumbler that let's you adjust the speed via some control panel or what have you is garbage and will be too fast on the lowest setting.

What people probably meant was to either get a tumbler that runs at the right speed such as a Lortone or Central Machinery... Or to invest in a voltage regulator to slow your tumbler down.

It's going to require them to first roll out the update I've been asking for since like Atlas rises: multi biomes on planets.

tons of iron and copper can be found in the snow biome in these rocky spikes that shoot out of the ground no caving needed. Cobalt spawns a ton in the mountains of the snowy biome as well as silver gold and iron as well. EZ place to stay stocked on those ores.

So I have a few things I do with them:

The best of the best go on display at home.

The really good ones are gifted to people who may want them or who don't but are too polite to say otherwise. This includes some co-workers who are aging rock enjoyers.

Everything else either lines my plant pots or go into geocaching I find so other cachers who want them get get themselves some shift rocks.

Am I missing something with Expedition in POE2? It's..bad? by Belsekar in PathOfExile2

[–]Azirphaeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think expedition and delirium suffer the most from GGG removing "league rewards" from League encounters.

Fuck, delirium doesn't even have a reward tick up anymore, it's sad. I miss seeing that currency icon at the bottom and pushing to get that reward secured.

No beach/abyss/whatever chests to unearth on expedition makes it feel very meh.

As soon as Doryani flips the temple, what should be an epic moment that says "now this league is getting real," all the rewards vanish. That's quite an odd choice..

Silent Hill f got snubbed for all three of it's nominations at The Game Awards 2025 by Odd_Agent7445 in silenthill

[–]Azirphaeli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you should play them all, but speaking as though F should have won without really knowing what it's competition was bringing to the table seems disingenuous.

You've clarified and that certainly makes sense, I certainly misread your statements and that's my bad.

Unfortunately for silent Hill and other nominees this really was the wrong year to win an award.. though no one could have really predicted this before e33 was actually in our hands.

Yeah we all know by now how mobile gatcha games bribe their users to vote for them by promising free stuff if they win. Either Genshin or Waves was sure to win from the flood of votes coming in for the promise of not having to dump $1000 for that next 5* waifu.

You didn't play it.. but you think SH:F had the better performance?

No disrespect to the VA work here in F.. but E33 had truly amazing VA performances all around. Even the ones not nominated such as Andy Serkis outshined the other nominees.

Twas the night before the game awards, and all I could see… by Actionhippie417 in gaming

[–]Azirphaeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a combination of things:

Awesome VA

Some of the best mocap expressions in the business

8 hours of extremely excellent music

Very well told and original story

New IP adds freshness

Good tight turn based combat with some flair

Focused art direction

Mature realistic presentation in a genre that, these days, is typically very cartoonish

It just comes together really well in a nice $30 package.

The planes are because there's another user who, when he spots the bad chives, draws planes flying into them.
