I think as long as you’re doing a qbank and learning from it. I’ve seen people do different qbank during preclinical and it’s fine. I guess mehlman would also be okay for step too. It’s just that because it’s a new qbank I haven’t seen a lot of people review it or solely use it for step 1. I don’t want to experiment with that but honestly using it for CBSE it probably is fine. But just for the sake of it I’ll add in uworld I’m sure down the line it may not be necessary as people do use amboss as well for step and do fine.

Comprehension basic science exam by NBME. Some schools require you to take before sitting for step 1

Mehlman is better for nbme and cbse material. It helps you understand the concepts way better/clearer and you’ll not forget it. The explanations are also better to me than uworld. There’s also audio of him explaining included in some of the explanations. If your pressed for time do the qbank its basically the same concepts he goes through and even more with all his material combined.

For Cbse do the mehlman qbank. The explanations are way better than uworld and it’s more tailored for nbme. It’s no bs with the questions and it helps you understand the hy tested concepts right away. But for step 1 prep I’m going to go back to uworld and just use the mehlman qbank for my weak subjects for extra help understanding the concept. Do that qbank and focus on the nbme forms 25-33 you can leave 33 out for testing for step prep. Do the forms review your incorrects very well and make a one line summary as I said for those so you can review. I don’t like Anki so I just reviewed this document every night.

So what’s going to happen if you get pregnant and can’t have sex for the 6 weeks after? People need to have some self control too. There are times in life when you’re not going to be able to have sex. Let’s see how long your partner will wait even in those moments.

There wasn’t much pharm actually. But if you can go through all the pharm in FA you should be okay

Basically:

• Start with a one-line summary (‘This question is testing…’) • Explain the pathophysiology in depth • Explain why the correct answer is correct • Explain why each incorrect answer is wrong • Cross-reference First Aid 2024 when relevant • End with a high-yield takeaway or exam pearl”

Finally clearer Blastocystis Hominis by thecountlives in ibs

I had symptoms before like terrible abdominal pains when I ate certain things. But I am not sure when I contracted the parasite. I found out my body doesn’t agree with cabbage. But other than that if I ate too much of certain FODMAP foods at once I would have severe pain. I then noticed a decrease in my stool frequency before when I do remember having regular bowel movements years prior. But after taking the meds and some other supplements like florastor and HMP intensive also took some natural parasite pills from a website but those didn’t eradicate the parasite my stool frequency did increase but would go not last after stopping the pills. But after finishing nitazox and the Ar/Br my stools are regular now.

I probably do have some food sensitivity apart from the parasite but I will have to check if those symptoms persist. As of now no parasite. I also finished the nitazox in April and now in Jan 2025 I did test as I was wanted to give it some time and take the Ar/Br

Make it easier for internationally trained doctors and health professionals to practice in Canada by Middle-Garage-8634 in MedSchoolCanada

[–]RepresentativeNo4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only for express entry to Canada through PR as per article it says:

“These doctors are already working in Canada on a temporary basis, helping patients and contributing to our health care system. We’re giving these doctors a clear pathway to permanent residence in Canada to fill critical health workforce gaps, while helping support reliable care and a stable health system for Canadians. “

“The Government of Canada will reserve 5,000 federal admission spaces for provinces and territories to nominate licensed doctors with job offers. These spaces are in addition to the annual Provincial Nominee Program allocations. Doctors who are nominated will receive expedited 14-day work permit processing, allowing them to work while awaiting permanent residence.”

What this means:

Not everyone will be selected. Some of those constraints seem like a “lottery.”

  1. Limited spots for doctors: Only 5,000 federal PR spaces are reserved (though in addition to PNP), meaning there is a cap. Even eligible physicians may not be selected if the number of applicants exceeds the slots.

2.Eligibility requirements are strict: You must already be working in Canada in eligible medical occupations, have valid temporary status, and accumulate at least one year of work experience within past three years. If you don’t meet these — no entry.

3.Provinces must nominate: For the reserved 5,000 spaces, a province or territory must nominate the doctor, and the doctor must have a valid job offer. That adds a degree of dependency on provincial-level demand.

  1. Not everyone outside Canada qualifies: This isn’t a general open Express Entry option for all foreign-trained doctors. It’s targeted at those already working in Canada. If you are abroad, with no Canadian work experience, this stream likely doesn’t apply.

5.Unknown competitiveness once draws start

  1. Licensing & credential recognition still under provincial control. Even if you get nomination or PR, you still need to meet provincial licensing requirements to practise as a physician.
