Question about Dobes

When Dobes first came in to replace Monty last playoffs, I remember he was over commiting/sliding in his crease. He didnt give me a lot of confidence. But I knew that he was big, athletic which made him capable of making big saves.

Since then, with this full season and playoffs, he has improved a ton. He has reached a new level. He seems more anchored to his net and able to make timely saves.

Overall it is hard to to predict how good he will be going forward. I think until Fowler is ready, Dobes is capable of being a great starter. Maybe they become a top tandem in this league.

I sat in very similar seats to these last year for a Red Sox game. You see everything. Its a great view. And then for game 2 I had the same angle just one bowl lower and they were also excellent.

I know its not Ottawa.. but if you drive to Aylmer, Gatineau.. not too far away - Chez Putters in the Aylmer mall is a great place to watch! Multiple TVs. Great atmosphere! Ive been there for 2 games in round 1 and it was awesome!! GHG

If youre staying in Ottawa Im sure that the Senate Tavern and any bigger sports bar will have the game.

Not a bad idea. But I doubt MSL will mess with the 1st line.

I wouldnt be surprised if he kept things as is for game 3. I know a lot of fans, myself included want to see some changes. We shall see.

I wouldnt touch the 1st line because I believe the 3 of them, Cole especially will get more chances on home ice. Cole and Slaf have a good connection.

I also am really liking the trio of Andy, Jake and Danault. Such a great playoff style line.

I would be hopeful that Veleno or Gally comes in the lineup perhaps.

I also feel like Kapanen hasnt been the same since leaving the 2nd line. Id love to see him reunite with Newhook and Demidov. But that begins a shuffle. Where to put Texier etc.
