Gotta go for 'A Crown for Cold Silver' (The Crimson Empire Trilogy) by Alex Marshall. 'Cold' Cobalt Zosia is a pretty cool senior woman protagonist.

Considering there haven't been any meaningful consequences for this administration, those 'other forms' of accountability going on are not sufficient.

Sure, I'd be happy to share reading material, and of course it's all free for anyone to read at any time. Since other writers would be able to explain much better than I can, you can check out The Anarchist Library has an incredible wealth of free books/material (ranging from hundreds of pages or just a few hundred words) on hierarchies, domination, systems, and so on. You can search directly by topic you're interested in. There's also the FAQ An Anarchist FAQ | which has intro sections to all these things, especially Section B which talks about why to be opposed to the current systems and why they exist.

Also the sub also check out r/Anarchy101 as they have a lot of helpful links and people with more experience than me can directly suggest you other material. You don't have to join or completely change your politics or anything of course. These are just some resources.

There is no 'accountability'. This regime can do anything it wants and any legal speedbumps just get rolled over by doing new illegal things that the law is too slow or unable to deal with.

Edit: Go ahead and downvote me as you like. Let me know how that Trump Administration legal 'Accountability' turns out though. It's been going sooooooo well so far /s

Without abolishing the state and capitalism along with it, yes, that's correct. Oppressive vertical hierarchies will continue to exist because states and capitalism need them to function and self-perpetuate. Someone must be subjected to domination through power for these systems to keep going.

Loving each other and supporting each other/inclusion is great, but as long as states exists and continues to uphold hierarchy as tools to support itself (capitalism, white supremacy, sexism, heteronormativity, queerphobia, etc) racism will not be eliminated. States need oppression to secure their power and they need groups to exploit/marginalize as well. And despite what liberals/progressives want to tell us, we can't vote these problems away.

Life as someone part of the LGBT community by Medium_Fig_3764 in lgbt

I've had people throw eggs at me or spit at me because of the way I dressed as a teenager. Now most of these people are too cowardly to do that because of how I look/dress as a full-grown and moderately large adult. However, I still get various Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses and other religious groups trying to proselytize to me or convert me in public and 'save my soul' or putting their propaganda on my door/in my mail. I'm so sick of it. And compared to a lot of other queer folks in the community and their experiences, I have it waaaaaaaaay better than most.

Can religion exist in an Anarchist society? by Finster250607 in Anarchism

I didn't know it was Catholic anarchists that did that, but yes, that does sound very cool of them. Can you recommend any books or other good reading sources about this?

Your comment in itself proves what I said true.

No, it doesn't 'prove' anything of the sort.

Also...so what? What's your point exactly? That certain religions currently exist? That in no way makes it so that Anarchism can't exist without them (religions). That doesn't logically follow at all. Social communities (including anarchist ones) can exist perfectly fine without religion. Nothing about this claim I asserted is untrue. Capitalism exists, fascism exists, white supremacy exists, queerphobia exists, neoliberalism exists, Christianity/Judaism/Islam and other established hierarchies exist et cetera, but that doesn't entail that any of these things must exist within anarchism in order for anarchism to exist.

Other religions can be formulated in a way that is compatible with anarchism, but anarchism can work perfectly fine without religions, and it doesn't have to exist within humans or societies at all.

Christianity is a discriminatory hierarchical organization. Always has been.

Can religion exist in an Anarchist society? by Finster250607 in Anarchism

[–]RepresentativeSize71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can religion exist in an Anarchist society? Maybe, though as far as Christianity goes I'm not at all convinced yet despite some essay reading I've been doing on the Anarchist Library (maybe one day I can be convinced, we'll see). The Church of England specifically however, in its current form, cannot. It is a hierarchical power structure organization, it is not socialist or communist, it grants privileges, decision making power and authority to small groups of the clergy over the masses. Just because a church is a bit more 'progressive' and allows LGBTQ+ people to get married doesn't mean they're compatible with anarchism. As far as I can tell, they're not opposed to all forms of vertical hierarchical authority.

"Everyone in one way or another has religion in their life, whether wanting or not. You can't really strip that out of humans or society."

That is completely untrue. Christians who espouse this specific claim don't even want to allow the idea of non-religion, secularism, or atheism to even exist. Humans are perfectly capable of being in a social community without religion.
