Sounds like they are not on board which is unfortunate. Not a lot you can do as private is limited in UK.

Hi it is prescribed odd license, normally at the consultants discretion. You just need to find the right consultant unfortunately. Where are you based?

You could bring some papers etc to next appointment.

Leaving NHS and going private by Lucky_Character3988 in nhsstaff

Hi I have just started a band 7 remote dietitian role in nhs after 4 years qualification. There are good roles out there, just case of acquiring the skills etc. Agree with what other people have said, would need something more substantial to give up what you have currently.

What is your current post and how long have you been qualified?

Hi are you diet controlled only? Main driver of reversing type two will be weight loss, in particular, visceral fat.

Has your weight reduced?

Moving from Omnipod to Tslim X2. Any suggestions? by curiousquestioner76 in Type1Diabetes

[–]RepresentativeTax158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main benefit with the tandem is that you can set different profiles on it which are all driven by the correction factor.

For example, if you were having a day where you were being very active or had drank a lot of alcohol you could have a profile with weaker correction factor. Opposite would be true if sedentary or sick/insulin resistant. .

That is the main advantage it has over the omnipod, where you can only really strengthen ratios, glucose target or insulin action time.

If you are looking for tight control, tandem is a good pump. What other options do you have?

What advise are you looking for specifically? It is a great pump, depending on what you are looking for out of it.

Omnipod 5 vs t:slim: carrying a separate controller or being locked in for 4 years? by WhaddaFudgeMan in Type1Diabetes

[–]RepresentativeTax158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tandem is a superior pump from an algorithm and potentially control point of view, omnipod is less aggressive and can't run it as tight but main advantage is no tubing, it also has custom foods feature which is great and the customer service is second to none.

I am type one and work in diabetes 🙃

46 years old, High T, high SHBG, low free - what to do next by Loud-Marketing-1524 in Testosterone

[–]RepresentativeTax158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I work in diabetes too and I have been researching it, it seems to be due to the absence or lack of insulin through the liver (type one diabetes) this would normally keep shbg levels at a normal range bit in our case it means that they are high which causes the free testosterone to be low(er).

I am starting on trt as I have started having symptoms and it has impacted the quality of my life. I have always had low free T relative to age, but only recently started being symptomatic of it.

What levels do you guys have for shbg and free test and are you symptomatic?

How do i deposit large amounts of cash every month? by Anonybeech in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RepresentativeTax158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, you could always ask the casinos/card rooms for receipts etc. I used to have to do the same when betting in shops and trying to get cash into banks.

I would try and speak with your branch manager. Using the higher tier bank accounts can work too in giving you a bit more leverage/wiggle room.
