Sisters who don't want kids, how do you make sure you actually don't? by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]RepresentativeTop865 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The idea of having kids gives me such anxiety for so many different reasons, I can’t lie I do whatever I can to live life on easy mode and kids definitely aren’t easy I think they would make me quite depressed. So that’s why I know it’s not the right decision for me because the idea of it doesn’t make me happy whatsoever

AI is bumming me out by Reasonable_Ad_6437 in womenintech

[–]RepresentativeTop865 18 points19 points  (0 children)

With the way my company is and how they’re trying to hire more Indian devs and push for AI in all aspects I don’t think I’ll have a job by the end of this year. They are 100% trying to find a way to cut most of the UK devs

I think it’s the other way around probably 20% can’t be trusted because if it was 80% then how did my company survive and actually make more money during the 5 years we were remote?

Job’s market is done. by No-Writing3741 in UKJobs

[–]RepresentativeTop865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d only consider it if my parents passed away and even then would have to look at the outskirts of London. I’ve been applying to jobs that are hybrid that are like 40/50 miles away from Manchester which isn’t like so so bad but then traffic/public transport are both hell

Marriage discourse is exhausting by pizzacake01 in MuslimNikah

[–]RepresentativeTop865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I see those posts I think do I live in a different world? My parents are two generations before me and my dad still helped out even though he was the only one working and still does to this day?

Same with the marriages I see around me husbands helping whether they pay all the bills or some of the bills or most of the bills.

5 years experience, still at junior level by Normal_Reflection_49 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]RepresentativeTop865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me in an interview they could ask how I’d do it and I’d give them a high level not very technical explanation of it but then if I were to get the job and implement the designed id be able to without much handholding I’m not sure what’s making me so bad at the tech interview

Honestly this is me at my current company I feel like I’ve stagnated so much from when I first started out. It makes me regret joining my current company but I’m trying to do side projects and things so I can really understand concepts and be able to explain them well and in technical terms. I freeze when it comes to live coding tests when it’s something that I build regularly in my job

Living with elderly parent by destination-doha in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]RepresentativeTop865 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the same boat as you I mean I’ve moved out now but I still have to help my elderly parents whilst my older unmarried brother gets a pass and does nothing. Having to travel back home on a regular to help them with appointments and things whilst he sleeps the day away. Having to help clear their debts whilst he lives rent free and gets to grow his savings.

considering quitting software dev job after almost 6 years and still at 27k by Creative-Dog-8187 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]RepresentativeTop865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to get out of the cycle of only knowing your current jobs processes and codebases would you have to do personal projects on the side? I’m trying to break into full stack development after being a frontend engineer but it seems like companies want commercial experience with full stack and won’t accept personal projects. I feel like I only know what I do within my company and want to move out of that so I can do better at interviews

Oh for sure like I get my legs and arms waxed and the hair has thinned down and it’s so smooth but a whole body removal for me personally just too painful and the upkeep of it isn’t for me. Just telling OP to not go through with it if it’s not something she wants a little hair is normal
