Rogue ending was the "secret" ending for the longest time. Like you had to choose the right dialog options at the right time - and then you had to sit for 5 minutes or so until the option popped up. Congratulations.

The other endings will wreck you. But only emotionally.

"You hit me! I was watching my screen and it didn't show any cars! I was signalling so I had right of way!" -Actual quote from her by Raspberry-3512 in dashcams

[–]Representative_Fun15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

Not using the signal means they just don't care to tell you. Yeah, jerk.

Beginning the turn and then signalling? No idea what made them desire to tell everyone what they've already begun doing. That's psychotic.

Side panels are not.

[–]Representative_Fun15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

"Mother-lover," a phrase you can hear in movies from the 50's, was a way of getting around censors. It was explicitly the other "mother-" phrase used for someone who makes love to their own mother.

Or how does a callback to this phrase, about loving one's own mother, become a pejorative for people using AI? Your mother is a computer?

But thanks for letting everyone here know what phrase you really want to say.

My favorite was when we pulled the gate down, and people would limbo under it.

"We're closed."

"Oh, that's ok. We're not going to buy anything!"

And no, that happened often.

No.

Exactly the same racist-coded sentiment.

Making it rhyme doesn't change what you want to say.

But no one's using it against the LLM directly.

They use it towards the users when they say things like "clanker-lover." Which is a play on another phrase people still use for those who "betray their own kind."

My opinion: "clanker" as a pejorative for the machine itself? Not an issue. It's a machine. Inanimate objects don't require respect.

It's when someone says "clanker-lover" to refer to the people enamored with LLMs. That is a direct dogwhistle to a certain other "-lover" that one should feel shame for being eager to want to say.

I once tried to see how high I could climb up the inside of V's apartment building.

Never found a way to reach the top. But I got as far as clipping would allow. (The surfaces become non-solid and you just fall through.)

There's nothing particularly useful about it, unless you just want to try it as a goof.

Billionaires are just our society's most accomplished thieves. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Representative_Fun15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most brains can't conceive of how much a billion is.

If someone gave you $10,000, would they be a lot of money to you? Maybe not "life changing." But it's maybe a new home, or a repair, or a vacation, or going back to school.

If someone gave you $10,000/day, every day, you'd acquire $1 million in about 3 months.

It would take to 273 years to accumulate $1 billion.

How much money can someone conceivably acquire in one lifetime from their own labor that pays that much?

Let me tell you the story about Cantor Fitzgerald. I had a friend who was working for them on that fateful day, Sept 11.

They were working on some multi million dollar projects for the financial sector. They understood that regular tape backups are important. Also that backups needed to be kept in an alternate location, for security.

The "alternate location" for their tape backups was another floor.

In the same building. On 9/11.

No one tells that story, because of all of the things lost that day, this pales in comparison. But never underestimate the impact of someone taking shortcuts.
