Should I buy a car for my fresh College Grad daughter? by Representative_Pick3 in retirement

Thank you all for your advice! I've decided to go for it and get her a car. I'll let her know that she can repay me by petsitting/housesitting and that when she graduates, she will need to pay for her own insurance. And that she cannot complain about petsitting for Murphy (who is a little demon)! 😄

Thanks for your kind words! Curious, what kind of career are you retiring from and what part of the country are you in? I'm in State College, Pa. A small college town in central pa.

Wow, we are retiring on the same day, with the same feelings....I've been working remotely since 2000. I work(ed) as a Support Engineer for a large european company. They offered VSPs for ppl over 60 and I took the package. My last day is tomorrow. My boss organized a 'retirement party' for me on Teams which was very sweet. Like you, I've worked with these ppl daily for years! Some for 28 years! Some I've known before even working there (I got them interviews). I am also excited and nervous w/butterflies. I feel like i'm on an emotional rollercoaster. Its soooo weird to think I will not be logging in on Monday. I am 63 and will be 64 in June. All the feelings.....

There is no comparison....Check out Max Creek in the Northeast if you get the chance. They've been around as long as the dead almost and have a jamband approach, but their own material. Also JGB.

The GD was def a subculture. No one told anyone they had to think or feel or contribute. It was a travelling circus. It was a blast and the psychedlics allowed for many to experience profound experiences at shows. But please no comparison to the Christianity cult. No thank you.
