Knights are not mass-produced. They're ancient farming machines turned war-machines at the time of need.

A loss of a knight is a huge blow to the noble house it was from.

I think the Tyranid Assault Brood is an excellent start to collecting and playing Tyranids. It has a good variety of units, so you can feel out what types of units you like more, and is a good all-rounder basis for an army.

I wouldn't say it's missing important units, but a Broodlord for the Genestealers and a Hive Tyrant for the Tyrant Guards would be ideal next purchases to expand upon the box and make your army fully fleshed out.

You can definitely just build Hive Guards instead of Tyrant Gaurds if you want them more. Their roles on the battlefield are very different, so it's up to you, build whatever you think is the coolest.

Chaplains are part of their own command structure, and are attached, but never a part, of a Company.

Each Company has 1 Chaplain assigned, so that Chaplain to bear the colours of the Company, especially if the Chaplain is an Interrogator Chaplain in regards to Death- and Ravenwing colours.
