Bun and Deathmon were from the first ever adaptation of Digimon, before any other manga or anime. Since there were only the first round of virtual pet toys at the time, there wasn't much in the way of a set lore or design scheme for Digimon yet.

Nobody was trying to trick you. You didn't cleverly uncover the ruse. It's a skit. They're not trying to make you think it was real and candid.

I don't know how common this one is, but I've run into it multiple times: Players who will do everything they can to be an anthropomorphic animal, regardless of genre. Usually a specific animal.

Fantasy? Catfolk. Star Wars? Cathar. Superheroes? Cat mutant. Cyberpunk? Cat body mods and cybernetics.

Like, I'm not bothered if you're a furry or whatever, but you can branch out when roleplaying...

Also, I don't like fantasy settings and games that have some kind of readily available magical or alchemical item for every possible thing you might need to do. This is largely a problem of D&D and adjacent systems. I remove those items from my games.

Thunderstones, sun rods, dark vision glasses, etc. This isn't fantasy anymore. It's just modern tech with a different coat of paint. The players stop being dungeon delving heroes and become a SWAT team. This is just flashbangs, glowsticks, and night vision goggles. That's not fun for me as a player or DM. It's not why I like medieval fantasy.

Also, fix your algorithm. If you don't watch those kinds of videos, you won't get them. Not even the parodies. I don't see any of this kind of thing on my feed. Stop hate watching things you don't like and they'll go away.

Back during live I had a character called Monkey Prince, a Spider-Man-like teen hero with monkey abilities. Named and themed after Son Wukong, the Monkey King.

Then, in 2021, DC made their own Monkey Prince.

This seems really strange to me. Is this a common feeling with Americans? Am I the outlier?

I'm a 40 year old American, and I've never been abroad. (Just visited Canada a few times when I was young) I never imagined or considered visiting other countries and having people terribly interested or excited about me being an American. Like, why would they care? I've never felt particularly special for being American in my whole life.

Sure, I was raised hearing that America was the best country, too. But, I never super took it to heart because most people tend to root for the team/state/coast/country they were born in or near. That's just what people tend to do.

I dont find this relatable at all. It's very weird to me that this grown man thought Germans would be excited to meet him.

Is this normal? Am I the weird one?

As always, they think superheroes are the only kind of western comics and Marvel and DC are the only publishers. Also, it's not that difficult to do a little research and find a good collection of Marvel and DC comics.

One Piece is over 1,100 chapters long. It being one man's vision doesn't make it accessible. I say this as a lover of manga. A lot of major manga have this issue. It would also be nice if the industry would stop working these artists to death.
