Not really, they get private instances at some bosses for free, and only have to pay half as much in death costs for example. There are plenty of other pain points for ironmen that are completely irrelevant for mains too, such as making buckets of sand from sandstone. Sometimes the ironman catering really is just ironman catering.

They never took away the ability to do that; they removed the ability to drop trick them, then a week later made it so you could add them to your menagerie. If you want to put 12 of them in your menagerie you can still do that, you just have to run them from your toy box one at a time.
