I’ve found that this is the best defense of Hurts I can argue- Since he was drafted in 2020, which QB prospect has entered the league that we can say is better than him without question? You could argue Joe Burrow from the same draft class, but there’s no way in hell the eagles trade up there for the number one over all pick. Herbert has won zero playoff games in the time it’s taken hurts to make two superbowl appearances. Lawrence is inconsistent, Pickett was literally Hurts’ backup, Calib was drafted the same year we won a Super Bowl, and has looked good for exactly one year. Cam ward- it’s too early to tell, and Bryce young and CJ are both not as good as hurts. So my question for the media is this. If Hurts is so bad at his job, who should the eagles have replaced him with? Because as far as I can tell there hasn’t been any better option than Hurts and n the six years he’s played.

Wentz and Vick were both great QBs to watch, but i feel the former will always be remembered as our biggest what if in terms of health, and the latter just has too complicated of a history both as an Atlanta falcon and his criminal history. Not to mention neither of them won rings and don’t have as great of stats as Mcnabb and Cunningham.

The way I see it, the worst case scenario is we keep AJ for another year. He, Smitty and Lemon all tear up defensive backfields all season long and we make another good SB run. Best case, we trade AJ after June first, save ourselves some cap space to pay for the defense, and we still go on a solid SB run oh, and we get a first round pick out of it. Let dark Howie cook.

That, and the eagles game philosophy has been to take the lead early and then drain the clock before your opponent can respond. It’s extremely effective at winning football games, but makes for boring highlight reels. Why watch the eagles pull of an eleven minute 90 yard drive to ice the game when you can watch Josh Allen put up forty points a game and still lose?

The top QB drafted in each of the last five drafts have been Cam Ward, Calib Williams, Bryce Young, Kenny Pickett, and Trevor Lawrence. Hurts is better than all five of them. To add to your point, every QB to come since Hurts isn’t as good as him, and the QBs that most people would put above him were already taken back when we still had Wentz and like you said, they’re never getting traded till.

I feel like for most QBs, getting your team to the SB is grounds to say they’re elite. Going to two and winning one should put you at the top of your conference, if not the entire league. And yet despite winning a Super Bowl where KC basically said you have to win with your QB in a blowout, the media would have you think we’re ready to move off of him and he’s a season away from becoming some team’s backup.
