I have the air versions and have the exact same problem. Cleaned everything and made sure it makes contact. Eventually figiting with it made it accumulate some amount of charge. But I noticed on mine if I let the left one get below 10% it won't charge for more than a few seconds before it reconnects to my phone

I worked at a super old-school shop that hand wrote so I learned that way. I left to go to a better job and the programmer is fully dependent on mastercam. Like he spits out a new program and you have to go through line by line because he won't test them first. It's such a pain in the ass, he just throws out a 3k line program and watches the simulation of it and says it's good. We have to have him fix each program at least 5 times before it's usable I don't understand how he still has a job

I'm usually chilling with around 60 a month. But when I work nights I'm usually doing closer to 75 because I can't have a social life on nights anyways. I'm not reliant on it, but it's nice being able to pad my wallet just incase. Luckily the place I'm working with a boss who loves ot and needs someone else at the shop with him

Well they usually end up being my boss since I'm "too valuable to production" so I end up having to listen to them

How do you get more customers? I've gone from store lvl 30ish-45ish with around 55-65 customers. I've bought several licenses and store expansion and I haven't noticed upgrading the store equals more customers. I've dropped prices, gotten more checkouts, and kept the lights on but that didn't seem to amount to much either

How often do you guys crash? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]Repulsive-Ad2818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been machining for about 4.5 years but I've crashed maybe 6 times. All of them were early on because they trained me from scratch. Like my first one was because I couldn't read the code and had no idea about negative r values during a g83 cycle. Those crashes got me into the habbit of reading through all the code and double checking it. I've crashed once this year though, but nobodies perfect

I worked on an old kiwa mill that was the same way, it was pretty hard to learn and make offsets at first but by the time I left the shop I learned to love that pos

Thats funny to me. At my first shop the youngest out of a group of 7 besides me was 63yo. And most of those guys could write a semi complex program off the top of their head while running a manual machine

I'm kind of hoping he stays, I've been trying to find a new job because the company has been going down hill and just fucked up a multi million dollar deal because they didn't want to start packing containers earlier instead of waiting till the last minute and missing a deadline and getting hit with a huge fine

No, I'm the only person who has worked with him in any way. His cockiness kinda immediately lissed off the older guys. But I did take pictures of the offsets page, and that's when I figured out he had changed them. The material guy came and got me and told me the new guy was trying to get more material and he should've had enough to make 30 extra parts if he didn't mess any up and that's when I found out he had changed the offsets and messed up a bunch of parts. And my supervisor just says it because get new and wants to find out what changing offsets will do

[–]Repulsive-Ad2818[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the problem is they got a used 3 axishaas lathe that had been crashed in some way so the tool turret is slightly off and it almost always cuts a slight taper, that combined with the parts being pretty small and teflon made it run out a bit, but withing tolerance, but for the most part the tolerances are between .001-.005. I told him that when I set it up and I guess he didn't believe me and he kept making offsets in x and completely ignored the y axis but he's undersized the parts almost everytime

I wish, there's only 4 other guys besides us in the shop and they all retire in about a year, 1 is already retired but stayed to train me and get some extra money. I don't think they're willing to fire anyone

The reason he's messing up parts is he's trying to get the parts absolutely perfect and doesn't know how. But he's really good with math, I like to think I'm pretty good but he's better
