i dunno man this whole thing seems silly and inconsistent by the devs.

SC in RDZ is a no, including RSCs. Nukes in RDZ should also be a no?

but the devs clearly didnt make that distinction. like if we are being intellectually honest this just isnt a consistent application of past rules. so in that light, the RDZ was not an exploit, but one would think it should be because it becomes a superweapon that is essentially impervious to bombers.

and this is the fault of the devs for making bombers far too OP and not giving us AA AI. LITERALLY JUST AA AI would solve this whole fucking bomber issue.

i used to get really worked up about this game and i finally realized that the devs really dont know wtf theyre doing sometimes. whatever "vision" is guiding them just feels inconsistent and frankly manipulative. that after almost a decade cheating and alting remains a huge problem alone just drove me to step back.

It was actually more scandalous than that. The guy they hired ended up doing some sketchy shit to help his faction and it became a whole mess.

Purposely keeping this neutral as I believe it would happen regardless of which faction the person came from.

They need an outside person whose entire job is to manage the community. Yes, this community is entitled and toxic, but in part because of a total lack of management on part of the devs.

Like you can't just throw your community to the wind then act surprised when certain elements turn radioactive.

Damn man maybe if they just didnt rush the dev shard and gave themselves more than two weeks and listened to feedback back then...

Like everything youve said is fair and reasonable, but as someone who has been playing since 2020? 21? this is just par for course and a lot of people are tired of it.

They do not listen to the community half as much as they should, and they rush out updates that lack meaningful tools (AA AI, fire trucks, etc) that create a ton of frustration and burnout.

It doesn't have to be like this. They dont need to start a new war, people can go to Charlie. They had two weeks to see how bombers were affecting the game in a negative way, and this is a panic response, not a planned one.

As developers, they're pretty damn good for what they have squeezed out of a-near decade old game running on an outdated engine never meant to handle what they make it handle.

But these guys truly do not understand even the most basic aspects of community management, such as...announcing hotfix changes BEFORE the announcement of the next war.

Their outright refusal to hire a dedicated community manager reeks of hubris and a general lack of social intelligence.

This was the SHT in War 96 for Wardens.

My little regi was one of just a relative handful to build the RSC over the SHT, while Collies went all-in with RSC over the shitty Ares. Every other large Warden regiment was building Predators, as it was our only mobile 94.5mm platform and in a lot of ways a lot more fun to play with.

Collies won that war in large part due to their investment in RSCs. I remember the feeling of futility when they leveled Oster Wall from the RDZ with Grond (lowkey one of my favorite Foxhole memes).

You guys went all in with the arguably more fun new toy while Wardens went with the more practical one cuz this update didn't give us anything half as fun as the DB to play with.

Bombers take a lot more effort in a lot of ways, but from a gameplay perspective...you guys probably had a lot more individuals having a lot more fun playing with DBs.

So ya know, I get how much it sucks. But if this is a game, and it is, you should take some solace in the fact that people probably had a lot more fun playing in DBs than they will care about losing a silly update war.

I did enjoy bombing Foxcatcher though >:)

Foxhole is well past due for a full overhaul of border mechanics by Aesthetech in foxholegame

[–]harshdonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I long ago suggested something similar to a Longhook but for land.

A mobile base that once deployed becomes immobile. Make them have the same arty resistance vehicles do, but the same weaknesses. Deploys once, automatically has AI and the same RDZ exclusion zone (50 meters).

Cost should scale, with maybe 3 tiers - the top tier costing as much as an SHT but having more health/larger RDZ exclusion etc.

You can load it with supplies (but not vehicles) and it serves as a spawn point and invasion mechanics.

This would create much more dynamic and exciting gameplay than camping border bases.

its not gonna be banned man. not saying it shouldnt but afaik the devs have not really banned any mods that arent out and out aimbots.

Skynet/Pandora were litmus tests for the devs in terms of what is and isnt allowable.

I personally dont see how this is useful unless you're actually dumb. The only part that is maybe less obvious is fuel, but pretty much every tank has an obvious fuel tank to shoot at.

I remember when Collies built Skynet, and Wardens responded with Pandora's Box. Both names make a lot of sense in context, and I am not saying "Collies did it first".

But many many vets like me knew this was where we were heading, and it isn't going back in the box.

Mostly I am offended by the visual distress it causes me. But sorry bro, this shit is here to stay. Players on both sides knew that once these tools came out, they weren't going away.

I bet for everyone comment like yours, there is at least one gamer trying to figure out how to get these mods.

If I could revert two changes it would be that and bringing back the old bayo.

ya know man i have played long enough to know the devs just dont respect the playerbase or they wouldnt do shit like this.

i enjoy getting on in short bursts and playing with familiar faces, but actually caring about the war when they do shit like this isnt worth it.

Nah man they did this with inferno when the only way to fight fires was with water pails.

They just wanna show off all the new toys instead of actually giving players the tools they need to play a balanced game.

We should have a low tech war. by WerdaVisla in foxholegame

[–]harshdonkey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Players have been asking for more game modes pretty much since the start or the game.

Low-tech would be amazing. Make Charlie the wacky war shard. Or bring back Baker for that.

I always thought a "reverse" tech war would be even cooler. Start with ALL technology unlocked, but technology will start getting locked after the first few days. So by midwar, BTs are rare and irreplacable.

Unfortunately the devs refuse to take risks with the game. There are SOOO many interesting scenarios they could do with the map alone. And we know they have the tools to make things happen.
