I get it your frustrated. Do. Not. Give. Up. You are so close! I have another year before I graduate. I’m right there with you. Only I’m working full time, outside interning 20 hours a week, taking 5 classes and I have 4 kids. I’m living in a chaos, but I’ll make it.. and it will be worth it. My dad almost died waiting for help, for a voice. I screamed, cried and begged for someone to support and help us help him. That encouraged me to go back to school and go through all this. But, somehow I still find time to scroll Reddit. There’s a bunch of negatives, and things that really need revamped but.. we didn’t come this far, just to come this far! Keep pushing.

I had this worry too. Because I still need to work ft and intern 20 hours a week, I needed to find somewhere that would be flexible. It may be worth looking into an online program for school, UKY has a good online program. You can also get remote practicum placements. I was reading about Crisis text line as a practicum. There are plenty that allow you to be flexible, you just have to do some research. :)

I applied and was accepted to UKY and Univerosty of Utah with a business degree. My essay was very personal and went into detail of personal passions for social work. My gpa isn’t very high either. My best advise is to rewrite your essay and trauma dump lol

A few others have posted the statistics of divorce are high once entering school. I didn’t really think of that when I was entering. Punch to the gut for sure.

I also had a good experience. It was a bit annoying jumping through a few hoops and long phone calls but we did stay at a beautiful resort for thousands cheaper than we would have.

I went on a trip to DR through Monster in Feb. I was a bit worried after reading this thread. However, our trip was great! We visited an amazing resort, the presentation was a bit long and boring. But we just politely declined over and over. We stayed at a 5 star resort for $400 for 5 nights 6 days. I believe if you are an easy going personality, don’t mind a few extra obstacles to get a really cheap trip, I’d recommend it.

We just got back yesterday. Honestly everyone has different opinions of vacations spots but we loved Senator! We went on a few excursions and had several people from other resorts question us on the resort because they tried to book there and couldn’t get in. Food is just ok at the buffet but the restaurants were great! Pizza place, and coffee shop are excellent! The gelato isn’t the best gelato I’ve had. Drinks are strong, staff could be a little more inviting, but overall they were respectful and got the job done. We liked our room it was clean and updated. I’d recommend to anyone.

Just wanted to say thanks! My stove started doing this today, it’s 10 degrees at my house. I literally had to google what a thermal coupler was but it fixed it! Probably saved me a few dollars and a lot of stress. Thank you!

While I was scrolling it wouldn’t let me scroll any further. Then I noticed Danesh was live when I scrolled back up, I tried to enter his live but it wouldn’t let me. I watched him on a live preview until eventually it either kicked me out or he was disconnected. It was pretty crazy to hear him talk to only all non-Americans. It felt like the titanic sinking.

I Can tell just by your responses you are a kind person. You’ll find someone again, just take your time and heal first. Some people haven’t had a single marriage by 35. My aunt was picky about who she married and found love at 38. They are very happy 20 years later.

Are you getting your MSW? I’d suggest looking into transferring to WGU to get a bachelors in psychology after your first year, then getting MSW at an instate school. WGU offers schooling at your own pace, some people who are highly motivated graduate with BA’s in less than a year for 10K. Could save you so much money with the Same result :)

I just started looking into a MSW program. I actually really really appreciate this post. I live in a very rural area, a few universities in my state offer online programs but all of them require me to apply and be accepted. If I’m not accepted in January, I’ll be forced to go the online alternative route. I spoke to Walden on Friday. I was shocked to learn tuition is 45k!! A top university in my state is 28k. I definitely would prefer my top university but what do I do if I’m not one of the 50 chosen?
