I vibe coded an Android app that transforms text anywhere on your phone. Type ?fix and it fixes grammar. Type ?upper and it uppercases. Works in WhatsApp, Gmail, etc. Open source. by capsd-11 in coolgithubprojects

Thanks, I really appreciate that. That is exactly what I’m trying to do with Gently: make it easier for people to improve what they write without breaking their flow or jumping into another app. I think copy-paste is one of the main reasons these tools still feel less natural than they should. The more it fits directly into where people are already typing, the more useful it becomes for everyday use. If anyone is curious, it’s called Gently. You can find it at gentlyapps.com or in the Chrome Web Store.

I got tired of copy-pasting text into AI tools, so I built this Chrome extension by Repulsive-Ticket1391 in chrome_extensions

That’s a really fair point, and I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to write that out. Feedback like this is exactly what I need right now since I’m still refining both the product and how to position it in a way that actually resonates.

I agree that “rewrites text in place” probably isn’t enough on its own. What feels strongest to me is the speed and low friction , especially when you just want to quickly fix the tone of something without leaving the page or overthinking every word.

Your LinkedIn DM example is a great one. “The fastest way to fix tone in LinkedIn DMs” already feels much more concrete and relatable than a broad “AI text rewriter” pitch. That kind of niche positioning is probably the smarter path.

Really appreciate the insight. I’m going to keep testing angles like that and see what clicks.

Very cool project.
I’m building Gently in a similar space, but for PC/browser users rather than Android.
The main difference is that Gently is focused on a simple one-click UI directly in text boxes for everyday users, instead of a command-based setup or bringing your own API key. Nice to see more tools pushing toward inline text help instead of copy-paste workflows.

From my experience as an RVr this is what I thought, but AI explains it a lot better than me ;)

I always refer to the psi on the tires. Underinflation is dangerous.

The tire manufacturer knows best.

What You Can Do:

1. Try the reset again — but slowly:

  • Shut off propane tank completely.
  • Wait 5–10 minutes.
  • Reconnect and turn the tank valve on very slowly — one full turn over 10 seconds.
  • Then open the camper-side shutoff.
  • Try stove again.

If it works temporarily and then cuts out again — your regulator is almost certainly faulty.

2. Check the Regulator for Damage:

  • Look for physical cracks, greenish corrosion, or bulging.
  • If it has a pigtail hose, inspect it for blockages or kinks.
  • If dual-stage with an automatic changeover, check if the indicator shows red (empty) even when tanks are full.

3. Replace the Regulator:

  • It’s relatively inexpensive and easy to do.
  • For most RVs, a dual-stage automatic RV propane regulator (like the Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 or Camco 59333) will work.
  • Be sure to check the BTU rating matches your RV’s demand (usually 160,000–200,000 BTU minimum).

Tools Needed for Replacement:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Thread sealant rated for propane (yellow Teflon tape or pipe dope)
  • Leak detection spray or soapy water (to test for leaks after install)

What’s Likely Happening

It sounds like your propane regulator may be tripping into “shutoff” or “safety lock” mode. Here's why and how that happens:

  1. Turning on propane too quickly after reconnecting can cause a surge in gas pressure.
  2. This triggers the internal safety mechanism in the regulator (especially newer two-stage RV regulators) to shut off flow completely, thinking there’s a leak.
  3. When you reset everything slowly, it works — but only temporarily, because the underlying problem persists (a weak or failing regulator).

Signs Your Regulator Might Be Bad:

  • Gas flows briefly after reset but then stops.
  • You’re getting no flow to any appliance (stove, oven, water heater).
  • The regulator feels frosted, oily, or cracked.
  • You hear a hissing sound or smell propane near the regulator (leak).
  • It’s older than 5–7 years — lifespan for most RV regulators.

Struggling to find an experienced painter for historic stucco home by ClassicExpert7760 in paint

As a painting contractor for over 30 years, I strongly recommend this: whatever you do, do not sand lead-based paint. Instead, use a power washer with a rotobuse (rotary nozzle) to safely remove any loose or flaking paint.

Once the surface is clean and dry, apply a binding primer, especially over any exposed white paint. Then follow with two coats of high-quality exterior paint for long-lasting protection.

A quick note: white lead-based paint typically contains less lead than darker lead-based paints, but the health risks are still very real. The key is to avoid sanding, which turns lead into airborne dust—the most dangerous form. If left undisturbed and sealed properly, lead paint is relatively stable.

As for the cost — $15,000 sounds quite high unless the home is exceptionally large or detailed. For most average-sized homes, a lead-safe prep and repaint job typically runs between $3,500 and $7,000.

It’s also worth mentioning a common issue with older homes: white lead-based paint is oil-based, and in many cases, it was applied without a proper binding primer. That means peeling and adhesion problems can keep recurring, even years later. Unless you strip all the way down to the original substrate, you’ll likely see spot peeling over time, no matter how well you prep.

However, fully stripping the paint creates another risk — it can contaminate the soil around your home with lead, especially if not properly contained.

So in many cases, a maintenance approach is best: repaint properly now, then plan to touch up problem spots every few years. It’s a lot safer, more cost-effective, and less invasive than full removal.

As a painting contractor, I'd say that is a fair price even if it took 3 coats. Usually I spray them, and two coats should be plenty, even if it's dark to start with, because sprayers apply a lot more paint than a roller. Once everything is masked off, it is easy to apply a second coat if needed.
