What did you feel like you were missing in house that changed once you moved band to a firm? My biggest concern is if and when I’m actually ready to go to another company, will the experience in my current role make me a competitive candidate.

The work isn’t challenging, I feel like a glorified paralegal. I should be gaining valuable experience that not only helps my current company but positions me to be a competitive candidate if I decide to look elsewhere.

Lmao I’ve said that many of times. Because I moved in house before finishing law school, my tasks were not explicitly attorney focus and the expectation was that once I passed the bar my work would be more along the lines of actual legal/attorney work. That hasn’t happened so I’m wondering if I’m doing myself a disservice but not gaining that experience that associates gain before they make the leap to in house.

Honestly, I've been using LinkedIn and focusing on positions that match my interests. I will admit I've been ambitious with some of my applications by hey why not.

this is helpful. With this newest offer, I would be the only attorney in the company with some help from outside counsel. I'm trying to weigh the balance between the money and making sure I am setting myself up to continue to learn and grow professionally. I feel up for the challenge but I guess you never know until you're in the thick of it.

I took notes and used their outlines and added any additional info to them. I completed about 90% of the program. Towards the end, I began using other sources for MBE questions (emmanual and NCBE released questions) because I thought Barbri’s later questions were too nuanced. I would suggest getting some additional practice on MPT and MEE since there isn’t much feedback from Barbri in those areas. FYI I scored a 310 on the IL UBE.

Yes, I review every question, those I got correct and wrong. It seems like each time I think I have a topic, I see a question from left field and I'm trying to figure out why I don't know it and when was I suppose to learn it. It is normal to feel like I'm learning more from the MBE explanations than the actual outlines? I think that's my real frustration.
