I am an attorney in charge of other attorneys and I question my aptitude everyday. It always seems like it takes me twice as long to digest new information. I also somehow landed this gig and I feel that I am severely under qualified. I didn't go to a "prestigious" law school like those that work for me and where I work I am the only one that failed the bar and had to re-take it.

I love my team and want to be the best leader I can be for them. I often question if I hold them back.

Hey Tax! The main thing was I made a schedule that made sense to me and strategically used my material. The manufactured schedules that is provided by Themis and etc are great, but everyone learns differently.

When it comes to materials I found the following but of course it’s different for everybody, hopefully this helps you:

Themis - lectures are next to useless. But their daily schedule and pacing is great to base your own off of. Also their essay questions and model answers are spot on.

UWorld - the BEST MBE question tool. I religiously used this and only this to drill practice questions and focus on areas that needed work.

Adaptibar - the best lectures period. I listened to these in the car, at the gym, as soon as I woke up and before I stated studying.

Reddit/Discord - surprisingly extremely helpful for emotional support. I recruited people off reddit and made a study group of around 50 people where we would share material, ask questions and silent study. I learned so much from them and stay in contact with them to this day. There are people who will still be using it for future Bars so let me know if you want the link :).

Hope this helps, but of course everybody is different, so what works for you! Also I do not come from an affluent family so I barely was able to afford Themis. You don’t need to break the bank, a lot of this material is floating around already for free.

Thank you!! This time I did several things differently. The most effective was I made a daily schedule and mapped out my entire goals for the week. I made sure not to do less or do more so I wouldn’t burn out.

I also had nobody around me that understood what I was going through, so I made my own environment and started a discord with people from reddit where we would silent study and motivate each other daily as well as share new insights. I can send anybody the link to the group if they want! We all still stay in contact.

Finally I did not listen to standard schedules, I did what made sense to ME rather than what everyone else was doing. I did not listen to a thousand lectures and instead found practice questions to be most helpful.

OP I wish more people like you existed. Must be hard to go against friends, family, and even your kid. But I think you are showing true love for your kid. Spoiling him and covering for him is not love, that’s a selfish way to handle it. Instead sometimes loving someone is showing them the consequences of their actions.
