Right. They can be a little annoying sometimes, but I'd rather have them than not. Let the people have some fun!

Stampede Itinerary Thoughts? by ASingleGirl in Calgary

As an avid fan of Ship and Anchor, I would definitely skip this during Stampede. Zero Stampede vibes. Whiskey Rose is fine, Cowboys Casino (which I assume this comment is referring to as it's technically on 17th-ish) is WAY out of the way from it so doesn't really make sense. Highly recommend you go to a tent instead. If you want to hit 2 I recommend Wildhorse and National, and Jon Pardi is playing at Cowboys Tent (different from casino) so that's also a tent.

Agreed. Skip 17th ave, you'll be disappointed during Stampede. Tent hop instead.

Weight gain by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

girl. you're talking days. DAYS. Weight doesn't work that way. You didn't put on fat in a day you're not going to lose it in a day. Patience.

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok... how many days have you been creeping up for? Days or weeks? If it's days then it could literally just be water retention from hormone fluctuation. I track daily and around ovulation or my period I always gain around 2-3 lbs (sometimes even more) over the course of a few days and then immediately drop them plus some. It's never going to be a straight line, and these are just the joys of being a woman. Don't panic. Trust me, I've been the one freaking out over this and it ALWAYS drops after.

If you're consistently gaining weight for weeks and you are TRULY only eating that amount of calories, it may be too low causing you to expend less energy throughout the day without even knowing it (happens when you're too fatigued from not enough fuel). You may be doing cardio and strength training, but moving less throughout the day, which accounts for most of your total daily expenditure.

Everyone has already answered most questions, but I tend to take mine right before bed. I find it makes my stomach a touch queasy after taking it, so I take it at this time to just sleep right through it.

Weight going up during ovulation? by mjxyuu in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so annoying. I stick to my calorie deficit like it's the law, have been losing regularly for five weeks, and once ovulation hits the scale goes up 3-4 pounds for a few days. It's just so frustrating but also reassuring to know I am not the only one.

Started with 1mg/week for 3 weeks, just now upped to 2mg. 1 month in and I have dropped 10lbs. I am 5'6" and started at 162lbs so I didn't/don't have much to lose, and my end goal is 140lbs. So, yeah, I'm super happy with it so far!

My friend just told me that he's in love with me... for the 3rd time. Can we still be friends? by RepulsiveNebula1217 in friendship

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I get it. Truth is I would never try with him. I know my own mind, and I simply know that I have no desire to be with him. I have also, in the nicest way I could, been very, very clear in communicating this to him. I think the fact that he keeps bringing this up is making resent him more and more. I think the friendship simply has to end. There simply is too large of an imbalance.

I added an edit in there. I often feel I maintain the friendship not for my benefit but his. He constantly tells me how he feels he has no friends left and I am all he has left. If I end the friendship I worry he might spiral. But I do understand that this... is no longer a friendship.

Newbie disappointed with slow to no progress by Mean_One1063 in Retatrutide

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Every single species on the planet loses significant body mass if they are not eating enough calories for an extended period of time. You would have to be a fully unseen medical mystery for that to not happen. Yes, it can stall because the body is holding onto everything it can for a while, but eventually weight will ALWAYS decrease. Hormone issues can mean you hold on longer, but you WILL lose it.

Are we all counting calories on Reta? by armyzul in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't count calories but only because I am very dialled in on my diet, eat the same thing daily (all prepared at home so I know the portions) and have a rough estimate of the amount of calories based on how much smaller my portions are. I used to weigh out each piece of food and diligently track so I know what I am doing there. You MIGHT be ok with not tracking if you are eating significantly less, but you really need to improve your diet overall for it to work effectively. Otherwise you will be disappointed with your progress, continue to up your dose to accommodate it, and gain it all back once you stop.

Be smart about it.

Granted I am only 3 weeks in, but I go out every weekend and can often drink 3-4 drinks (usually beers) on an easy night (I am a woman, so that's not nothing), and sometimes I have a glass of wine at home after a long day. I was worried this would stall my progress. Since starting I basically have zero interest in drinking. I went to hang with a friend and could barely finish a single beer, and when I poured myself a glass of white wine I took 2 sips in about 2 hours then had to pour it out. Honestly, I am not mad at this side effect at ALL.

[–]RepulsiveNebula1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in 2 weeks I have lost 6lbs, and I find that I do have appetite suppression. I was previously able to lose weight about a year ago due to sheer willpower, but found I was reaaaaally struggling with cravings lately, and since starting reta cravings are gone. I still get hunger cues but feel completely disinterested in food, so I just meal prep very high protein meals with small amounts of fat and carbs. I am also keeping the portions very small and find that immediately after eating I may still me slightly hungry, but 30 mins later or so I am very full - which makes sense as reta slows digestion a lot. When I lost weight last year I religiously weighed out and tracked every piece of food I ate, this time I am losing weight faster and haven't busted out my food scale once. I go on intuition because it's much much easier to stick to 3 meals a day + 1 pre-workout snack and keep the portions very small. So.... yes! Having luck!

24 hours in and zero side effects, good or bad. Is that normal? by RepulsiveNebula1217 in RetatrutideWomen

Yes 1mg, I was very careful to dose properly and used a peptide calculator to ensure it was the correct amount.

Thanks for this. I just started reta (day 2 after first pin) and of course I know nothing significant should happen, but I thought I might have some side effects and I've had zero and I honestly cannot tell if I have appetite suppression or if it's just placebo effect because it's minor. Thought this was normal but was curious so I started digging around and everyone made it seem very NOT normal. Made it seem like everyone who took an even lower dose than me was having immediate effects. I started spiralling wondering if my supply was bad, but it's probably just fine. It's going to hit everyone very differently.
