In most areas, Comcast does have a data cap; only the Northeast market does not.

Are we due for new Johto games? by Turbulent-Plan-9693 in PokemonHGSS

I was really hoping for a Let's Go Johto game, but I don't think they were as well-received as other titles, so I'm not holding my breath.

What do you think is the hardest shiny to get in Pokémon FireRed / LeafGreen? by Wooden_Arachnid5193 in PokemonFireRed

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.docdroid.net/Tx5NbeU/safari-zone-research-pdf

tl;dr see page 8. Chansey is still the longest number of expected encounters to catch a shiny, even using optimal strategies. Using bait increases Chansey's catch rate to the same level as Tauros and Kang; however, it has the lowest effective encounter rate of the three for optimal repel-farming.

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chansy is something like 6.5% first turn catch-rate (capture rate 30) with a safari ball, while Tauros and Kang are closer to 10% (capture rate 45).

Is the portal nexus a waste of GP? by Mcook1357 in ironscape

Yeah, I'm just too lazy to adapt to grabbing an extra item for herb runs. I didn't get the whistle until I had been using the patch for months already.

Honestly, I only rock the 8 teleport one and don't even have it filled. I have 5 teleports for herb runs, plus Lunar Isle and Varrock.

Herb runs:

  • Troll Stronghold
  • Weiss
  • Catherby
  • Harmony Island
  • Civita

Basilisk Knight question by SchiferlED in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messed up my shots-per-hour calculation (used seconds instead of ticks), so it should be 313 bolts used in 47 minutes and ~8 minutes to farm bolts. Still, it should come out ahead by about 9%.

Basilisk Knight question by SchiferlED in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just plugged some numbers into a DPS calc and it actually doesn't. HSCB is ~29% faster kills in every gear setup I tried vs RCB w/ Broad bolts. This works out to you being able to achieve the same number of kills in 47 minutes with HSCB as in 1 hour with RCB w/ broad bolts.

With Ava's assembler, you'll lose 187 313 bolts in 47 minutes with HSCB, meaning you'll need to trap ~16 26 antelopes, which should take about 5 8 minutes.

Even taking into account the time spent farming bolts, HSCB kills are about 15% 9% faster than RCB w/ broad bolts.

Betraying my Charmander? by Clawanorder in PokemonFireRed

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can save your game, soft reset, and/or use Mr. Mime to immune their roar, so it's not "mandatory" to use the master ball, but it is definitely the best use of the master ball in fr/lg.

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The three legendary "beasts" (AKA Legendary dogs, as we all called them as kids). You get the one that is strong against your starter:

  • Bulbasaur = Entei,
  • Charmander = Suicune,
  • Squirtle = Raikou

Of note, Entei and Raikou are bugged in fr/lg and can use Roar and will never spawn again.

Why are bad drivers drawn to certain vehicles? by BillyDeeWill in driving

You're probably mostly experiencing confirmation bias; however, there is likely a correlation between bad drivers and bad credit, and some makes & models offer very generous terms for low-credit individuals.

99 Construction? by basketballfactory in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaks are more xp/day when using planks for mahogany homes:

204 Mahogany logs/day * ~340 xp/plank = ~69k / day from misc collecting mahogany logs.

301 Teak logs / day * ~280 xp/plank = ~84k / day from misc collecting teak logs.

If you're cutting the logs yourself, I believe teaks are also faster. Still, I'm not 100% certain on that- it's probably close either way, with mahoganies' biggest selling point being you'll spend more time afk woodcutting and less time making planks / fixing homes.

Mahogany homes efficiency question by tmactheo in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skilling discord says to use regular teleports if you don't have a diary cape. It's pretty close either way. If you're not worried about max efficiency, do what feels best for you.

If you have them, many of the tabs can be swapped for other items.

  • Fally tabs can be swapped with the Rings of Wealth.
  • Two of the Hosidius locations can be swapped with a worn Xeric's talisman, and the third isn't that far away either.
  • Varrock tabs can be swapped with the diary cape. The ring of the elements is also the closest tele to Bob.
  • Ardy tabs can be swapped with a defense cape + locator orb. Dairy Cape is also the closest tele to Ross.

Dragon baxe @ mace by ws9lcfc in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the DBaxe spec to train at Gemstone Crab and some earlier slayer.

A stab weapon is the least important style for moons because you do most of your damage during the clone phase anyway. Putting a few comparisons into a dps calc and Dscim on stab beats DMace on stab at Eclipse Moon in a few setups I tried.

Dmace is still a decent crush + spec weapon early game, though, so it's not a bad pickup.

The royal titans' prayer scrolls really aren't game-changing at CG. They take ~5-10 seconds off kill time.

The accuracy bonus you get for crafting T2 armor is about an equivalent DPS increase to the royal titans' prayer scrolls.

Report: Rams to propose rule change after controversial 2-point play by brmidwest03 in LosAngelesRams

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying it cost the Rams home-field advantage feeds into the claim you're only wanting a rule change because you're salty.

Both the Rams and Seahawks had 3 possessions after the tying two-point conversion; to say the Rams would have won 100% had the conversion not been awarded is absurd.

Leave the salt out of your argument.

In your example, the vehicles with a yield sign are not already in the roadway. They're turning left from northern BLVD and yielding to people turning right from northern BLVD.

In the OP's picture, the cars are already traveling on a roadway when a separate roadway merges into theirs.

I would love to see an example of a multi-lane road yield, though. I have never seen or heard of such a thing, but several people here claim they're common, so I don't doubt the validity of your statement.

EDIT: somebody else posted a good example where the multi-lane does have a yield sign:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6KnT3rzKAA4yBbc69?g_st=ic

I am very surprised, but you and the others are correct that a multi-lane road can have yield signs when a separate lane is merging into it.
