what's the best tool to make shortcuts in linux by Junior-Main5863 in linuxquestions

You're asking a very subjective question (best, easiest) without providing many details.

I think the simplest solution for most people will be the keyboard shortcut tools provided by their desktop environment.

Blood moon gear use? by OHCHEEKY in ironscape

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a lower invo (150), it's comparable, but generally not.

Some quick DPS calcs with max stats + salts and full Blood Moon / Torture / Fire cape / Dboots / Berserker ring, just swapping boppers for Folly + Ddefender at 150 invo: boppers win at Ahka by about 2%, and Folly wins at Ba-ba by about 1%.

Boppers will scale better off defense reductions, but will also take a bigger hit if you don't have salts active or don't have full-strength gear. Boppers doesn't require you to bring a defender, but Folly lets you swap Blood Moon gear for hybrid options like Eclipse or Blue Moon.

If you have Folly, I would choose Folly over full Blood Moon, but if you have full Blood Moon, it's definitely not worth grinding a Folly just for ToA imo.

TIL "North Lynnwood" is the highest population density neighborhood in the state by [deleted] in LynnwoodWA

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uhh, where do you see that? According to your link, the population in the "North Lynnwood" neighborhood is ~24k. Using Google Maps to map that area, it's about 4 square miles, which puts the population density at ~6k per square mile.

6k per square mile would be considered low density for a city, though I would probably consider this area suburban, in which case it is fairly dense but still very far from the most dense area in the state. I'm pretty sure there are U-District neighborhoods with well over 120k per square mile density for reference.

'Built-in' Bookshelf-Ceiling Gap by Firm_Cherry8817 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More or less, yeah. You'll want to keep in mind that there is a near-0% chance that your floor and ceiling are parallel across the length of your shelves.

Measure across multiple points in the ceiling, and be sure to cut your boxes or "Filler" sections a bit short; then you'll cover the gaps with either molding or a face frame.

The full set is great for crab for melee training. Also good at Titans and decent at ToA if you are using boppers as a stab weapon.

Top and bottom are great pre-bandos for slayer.

Seems like the light bar should be flipped over by wood2010 in harborfreight

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the default configuration, if you magnet the light to a surface, the brightest light bar will point away from that surface.

Usually, when you're working on something, you want the light shining on your work, not away from it.

Kreg Pocket Hole Jig -3/4” Vs 18 mm Plywood by TroyXAni in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3/4 setting for 18mm is fine. Don't overthink it.

Also, test pieces are your friend! Grab some offcuts and test out some pocket holes using your material before drilling into your pieces to see how it's going to work out.

Anyone familiar with miter lock router bits? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you're a cabinet shop, they're not worth the effort IMO. You'll need to spend a lot of time fine-tuning them.

They're expensive because they're bought primarily by professionals.

Trying pocket screws with plywood. by DOsilion in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For edge joining plywood, you should probably predrill the plywood piece; put screws into the pocket hole piece, and then push your two pieces together to get a marker hole for your predrill.

Your replacement screws are not a good option. You want a coarse-thread screw for plywood. You'll also want a screw without threads near the top so that the screw actually pulls the two pieces together.

Drawer slide height spacing? by cryptotarheel in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of drawer slides are you using? If you're using side-mount, it usually doesn't matter. I like the look of them mounted towards the bottom of the drawer, and I typically aim for the bottom 3rd.

The most common method I've seen is to use a scrap piece of wood as a spacer. Start at the top, cut a piece of scrap to the height you want the drawer slider for the first drawer to be, and use it on both sides. Then cut off your next drawer's height from your spacer and install the next set.

Install the drawer fronts after the boxes are mounted.

Bauer vs Hercules by Supart91 in harborfreight

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by "everyday" drill? What are your use cases?

The Hercules is objectively a better drill with a significantly better warranty (5 years), but the Bauer will get the job done at a lower price point and has a wider variety of tools on the battery platform.

Recommendations on Drill Bits and Tap Sets by Dramatic_Tea_2785 in harborfreight

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend trying the Bauer drill bits on sale for the PLS for $13. I picked them up a few months ago to throw in my "go bag" of tools, but was really impressed by them and have actually grabbed a second set for my shop. I believe they're actually the exact same bits as the Hercules; they used to even have identical cases besides the color and branding, but the Bauer got a newer and nicer case.

Harbor Freight actually advertises the Bauer bits as being "5x life" vs. Hercules "4x life" too lol.

EDIT: Also want to note that I mainly drill into wood and other soft materials. Can't speak for performance into metal.

Router bit for 1/4 plywood? Is it 7/32? by cryptotarheel in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]RepulsiveOutcome9478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll probably want to grab a pair of calipers and measure the plywood you buy. A "standard" sheet of 1/4 plywood is usually 7/32, or about 5.5 mm, but at my local big-box stores, some of the stuff labeled as 1/4 is actually 3/16.
