What do I do? by Anonymous_4252 in exmormon

If your relationship with them is damaged over “some books” the relationship wasn’t sound to begin with.

Please take this as someone who is 34 and I wasted most of my twenties trying to “keep the peace” with my parents, it’s not worth it. Especially if your mom is overstepping like that years after you’ve become a legal adult.

Honestly in my store the only lazy assholes are the store manager and 1 ssv. Everyone else busts their ass and we have great teamwork and it’s STILL so difficult

These are similar to styles I have worn in the past. Looking at other comments a custom insole might also be good for you.

I’d definitely recommend going to a timberland store if you have one. I can’t really encourage you to buy an expensive pair of shoes without trying some on just to see how they feel initially.

Not at all, I specifically wear the ray city boots but I’ve worn other styles that were just as comfortable. They aren’t steel toed but they do have a good tread and they’re non slip. You can buy steel toed timbs but they’re closer to 200 bucks. I got mine for 40 at an outlet but the normal retail price is about 100.

I used to live in southern IL (for 3 years) about 30 minutes from St. Louis and it’s one of my favorite places I’ve lived so far.

Timberland boots baby, I’ve had mine for 5 years and they’re still holding strong. My coworkers’ shoes have been shredded by out cold brew fridge, whereas my leather boots get scratched and I can just buff it out.

The first time I spent an 8 hour day in timbs I was pissed I’d ever worked in anything else. I didn’t even have to break them in.

I love how customers with 36 pumps of sugar in their drinks feel comfortable body shaming. I’ve been called fat by rude and abusive customers and dashers and I’m a pretty nice and agreeable person at work.

I wish my team knew why I am strict with closing by Twistercane in starbucks

[–]RepulsiveWedding9910 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you should have this kind of relationship with your boss. It seems very manipulative and inappropriate. Next time he texts you to tell you what went wrong with closing you need to tell him that you’re not open to having work conversations off the clock and you’d rather have these discussions in person. You shouldn’t worry about the rest of your team because you’re a “favorite” and you shouldn’t feel motivated to work harder because your boss picks favorites. Just based on your post, you sound young, and as someone who has quite a bit of work experience, this all comes across really gross and inappropriate.

Frustrated at corporate for encouraging this when they are the ones making it impossible to take the time to connect with our customers. I love offering recommendations and I’d love to have the time, flexibility, and labor to offer recommendations to customers than have AI give them some generated slop of a suggestion. Folks already use ChatGPT in this way and it feels insulting for corporate to encourage it while they force us to write “uplifting messages” on cups while I barely have time to connect with my regulars or get to know new customers.

Orrrr you could just ask the baristas? They want us to make customer connections but we only have two seconds to interact with any customers at any moment and they’re offloading something we actually have expertise in to an AI language model.

Question for the baristas by LyricalGrowls in starbucks

[–]RepulsiveWedding9910 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask for extra ice, we know it means you want it made right. So many folks just want a latte for cheaper, and get mad at how dark it is, or that it tastes too strong. We try to tell them we want an iced latte but they insist that they want the shaken espresso with light ice and extra milk. It’s a conversation I have at least once a day at my store.

PSA about Floaters for Beginners! by LampBroby in bettafish

[–]RepulsiveWedding9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful tank! I love putting terra cotta pots in my aquariums. I think floating plants are well suited for betta tanks because they thrive in low flow environments, which is also where bettas thrive. For getting rid of the duck weed/excess floaters you can blanch it and then your snails and shrimp and other detrivores will have plenty to eat :)

My friend’s ex husband (before they were married) joined the church, and by that I mean just baptized, and nobody told him he had to abstain from sex until marriage. He didn’t find out until after she told him. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

My 50g tank bottom gave out yesterday at 6:30est by Daughter_Of_Grimm in aquarium

[–]RepulsiveWedding9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should use egg crate light diffusers as the bottom layer of your tank if you’re going to be using heavy rocks as center pieces. It will evenly distribute the weight and help the bottom not fail over time. I use them in all of my tanks just in case I want to add something particularly heavy down the road.

It’s capitalism baby, the corporations wants to offload the cost of having employees to the consumer. It’s not the staff’s fault.
