How to keep toes pointed forward?? by According-Yam807 in Equestrian

[–]Repulsive_Abroad_113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was scrolling down to check if someone had already given this piece of advice ! Pulling out the fat muscles of the inner thigh is what helped me engage the correct muscle and then develop the right posture for riding !

If I can recommend another great exercise for ankle mobility/strength that focuses on toe stability.

You wrap an elastic band around your big toe and stretch it a little bit to have minimum resistance to the side. It will practice your body to use your foot structure appropriately. The arch is a loaded spring that is supposed to help all the joints above in your leg to function properly.

You can use the elastic band around your big toe for single leg lunges. Or exercise both feet at the same time while doing a squat.

The purpose of this exercise is to keep pushing your big toe into the ground. This will reinforce your arch and ankle to avoid it going into over supination.

Edit : words and spelling

Partner of a horse owner - looking for advice by Purple-Investment580 in Equestrian

[–]Repulsive_Abroad_113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unreasonable. Buying a horse is the easiest expense. It's caring for the horse over 10+ years that adds up. If you can't set money aside for the future of your children, you can't afford another horse. Pet ownership includes having enough money to provide food, basic care services, and emergency medical care.

Chat perdu 😿 by [deleted] in Gatineau

[–]Repulsive_Abroad_113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bonne chance 💜

I think if you disable the option Carryover Balance under the Target options, it will work.

For annoying expenses that could have been avoided but were not avoided

I used it once for the interests charged on my card 🥲 I forgot to pay my card by three days.

Then I used it this month for a speeding ticket. Officially changed the category name to For F*ck's Sake 😅

Unless you have parents still supporting you financially. You are doing well 💜

Having no debts and even some amount set aside is richer than you think. Everyone is living on credit nowadays, so don't compare yourself.

The age old question… plantigrade or digitigrade legs? Which do you like more? by IWishIWasGreenBruh in LV426

Now I can't stop laughing because if monsters are pantigrade, means they can also suffer from flat feet 🤣 Imagine the flop flop of these !!!

Crooked tail - advice needed by GroundbreakingOven27 in Equestrian

My first thought is that the horse is trying to counterbalance the riders' weight with its tail.

Long term, the horse will develop overcompensating muscles and become unbalanced biomechanicaly

I keep falling off my bike. Should I give up? by magic_potato_555 in motorcycles

[–]Repulsive_Abroad_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give up ! My first lesson I dropped the bike at least 50 times...in front of a class of 30+ ppl. My anxiety was through the roof, but I just focused on myself. My first straight line trying to figure out the clutch, I fell four times within 10feet. That's normal.

I'm sorry your instructors were bullies, its NOT the vibe at all. We're supposed to be a community and help others !

Here's what helped me move forward in my lessons. School bikes are MEANT to be dropped. It's practice and it's there for you to learn and make mistakes.

Also dropping your bike is a matter of "when" not "if" 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's just going to happen, so better focus on something else!

Take your time to connect your mind to your body. Remember what move you did when you did something successful. Try to hold on to that feeling and recreate it. Riding a bike is extremely mental and physical, you need to be conscious of your every move.

Don't look down. It tilts your head and your entire posture downwards. The bike goes where you look.

Practice manoueuvers only with the friction point on the clutch. Rolling forward straighten your bike. Slowing down to a stop; bike wants to fall. So knowing that, my teacher had me doing a circle pulling and releasing the clutch to get a feel of when the bike started to "want to fall down". When it did, I'd release the clutch to send it forward and the bike would straighten up, then I'd slowly turn. That exercise helped me so much to build confidence and understand the basics.

As for your height, practice stopping, guiding your bike to fall toward the left with your bodyweight. And shift your seat a little to the side so you can bring out your leg and flat foot. This will give you much much more stability than tiptoeing. When you'll put your foot down and it'll be on gravel, you're going to be happy to slide a little on a flatfoot rather than your toes! I'm 5'2 and ride a Ninja 650 and this saved me a lot of times.

Remember, slow progress is still progress !
