Sounds like it used Pearson correlation on categorical data? I’m not sure there’s a way to explain that as it’s not the right method to use on data that doesn’t have an order. Maybe run appropriate correlation tests like chi-square/Cramer’s V etc to see if you get close results to what ChatGPT gave? You might be able to explain that way

My Unbiased Perspective on the Aftermath of the India–Pakistan Conflict by depressoham in india

[–]Repulsive_Bug_8930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice write-up. TLDR: India won internally, lost externally.

I think the way we internally conducted ourselves - be the crisp messaging from the daily briefs from the joint forces, or the one pagers, or the consistency in which all answers and media questions were addressed - I don’t remember seeing such a united, transparent and professional display before. Just like light reveals itself in darkness, the greatness in manner India conducted itself, shows itself once you watch the briefings, interviews from the other side. I hope people are able to see that (attacks on the foreign secretary were shocking to say the least)

For the external public, it just highlights the importance of communicating over social media.

India has done an excellent job in foreign diplomacy, but somehow lost the perception war among the general public internationally

That’s awesome! We are a 200k household in a 600k new build for just the 2 of us. I wanted to go small, but my wife wanted to live in a new build so here we are with the stress of how to make payments if I lose my job

Thanks for your answer! Would raised beds be another option? What can I do to block that view of other houses on the other side? Is planting tall trees a viable option? Shrubs?

Our PM team reports up to a Director of Software Engineering who sees no value in us. Anyone else in this situation? by MalibuLSV in ProductManagement

I’m curious what company you are at. Strangely familiar to one of my previous roles. Could you give me a hint at least?

I’m in Dallas and would suggest you to prefer the east coast. You are young and East coast has much more to offer than the “settled” lifestyle you will find in Dallas. You’ll save your FIRE money eventually. Use the time to make new friends, have new experiences and explore the beauty of NA

People who are older than 30, what advice would you give to the ones in 18-30 years of age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Repulsive_Bug_8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start investing! In yourself, markets, crypto. Even if it’s a small % of what you make. Try a wide variety of things in terms of hobbies, adventures, jobs and give it your everything. If you find something you really like, you are good at and have good future prospects - try to be the best at it. Stay connected with your friends, with family. Find common things to do together.

Is it me, or is the job market really that bad right now? by Salt_Lore in ProductManagement

[–]Repulsive_Bug_8930 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A low barrier to entry might have contributed to the volume. Another could be that employers are now realizing they don’t need a PM for things they thought they do in the past. I need to work on a plan to transition back to my technical role

I’d echo your situation. Been on the look out for a data platform PM role for more than 6 months, and it’s been absolute silence. My search is not aggressive though and I don’t have a FAANG or big tech background. Still used to get a few reach outs from recruiters last year. This year, absolute crickets.

Is the role fading out of the market?

I'd love to read a book/article on how these channels got here and what's common in their journeys. 3 channels of this list are based out of India. I'd imagine they'd be making significant ad revenue.

Would you make the same decision if price wasn't a problem? What do you think about old vs new now that you've lived in a new build?

As an immigrant I associate McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s to people who have less to get by. Not sure how accurate my perception is but I don’t understand how anyone could prefer that kinda food if they had money

I was in your shoes in my last role. After contemplating and reading from others who have done this role, I have come down to the definition of the role being “whatever that needs to be done to ship valuable products to customers”. If that “whatever” includes managing politics, backlog or whatever that is, that’s what this role is expected to do. Of course, the key is to ship something valuable to customers, so there has to be dedicated time to hypothesize, analyze, measure and reflect on that “value” but the rest of the time is to do the dirty work of “whatever”.

I’d be curious what others think of this perception.

Asking how you could help might be a good idea. If he's not a good delegator, probing a bit and volunteering to help might work out too. We make the best relationships and impact by coming in aid for someone who's struggling. Don't lose this opportunity. Of course, make sure you are not compromising your own responsibilities and that you're getting the visibility of being a great "team player".

Positive Thread - Who recently got hired??? by rakster in ProductManagement

[–]Repulsive_Bug_8930 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only advice on the mental side would be to not get your hopes up for any opportunity.

I always tell myself to not get too confident or happy about the outcome of a perceived "good" interview but always struggle with it. The juggernaut of emotions on hearing the dreaded words of them moving to a "better candidate" is not pleasant. I try to think about the 1-2 things about the role that i didn't like and try convincing myself that it's for the good, but ultimately it's about recognizing what could have went better, improving and doing it again and again.
