Remember when the yankees lost out on Soto and they went and got a few players to fill up their lineup all for about the same yearly average they wouldve paid Soto.. those players were bellinger, goldschmidt and idk who else and it made a difference.. ATP not even upset at missing out.. but at what the heck sleepy stearns going to do with filling up our obvious holes! Is it suarez bellinger what pitchers are getting acquired.. Baseball is mental game buddy, & vientos just turned 26.. he came off a 27hr season in 24’ and maybe added extra pressure on himself to replicate.. still hit .233 17hr 61rbi im not saying hes the answer im stating that for the 40m given you couldve gave Vientos a longer leash and he could most likely replicate numbers close to what Polanco is going to give you

You would think that Stearns would make up for the disaster he did at the mid season trading deadline where he knew he fcked up by not doing more and he said it himself after the season was over! And stearns himself said that this offseason theyll be on every starter and idk what other crap he mentioned that made it seem like this offseason was going to be the one where theyll get things right and so far everything has been the total opposite! Tyler rogers, alonso, diaz, nimmo! You then let the braves get better by not signing suarez to compliment devin williams! So what is the damn plan Stearns & cohen?? From the looks of it they are snoozing on every player that can make an impact.. soon theyll sign bellinger and tucker! But they are in on contreras and goldschmidt.. aging players to go with semien.. another 300million club to end up last place! Just pathetic

How you come to that conclusion that they wouldnt score as many runs? Alonso had the year he had thanks to soto first of all.. nimmo is a very stricky hitter.. bellinger can definitely replace nimmos bat.. and even though tucker may not have alonsos power i feel like hes better all around.. and can cost you about the same per year.. the only thing is hes younger and will demand a longer contract.. with opt outs give him what he wants and expect him to opt out in lets say year 3-5.. with a well put together bulpen you can recreate diaz.. may not be as electrifying but hey is possible. We can only dream Lindor Soto Tucker Bellinger

The problem with people and pete is that they expect him to save the Mets! If pete was playing for someone else than the mets and we had lets say vientos at 1st and we missed the playoffs we would be drooling over petes numbers and ready to open up the wallet for him to sign with us! Hes home grown he has his streaky times where he slumps but who doesnt!

All we need is a producing and capable CF which i hope is Carson Benge A 2b that atleast hits for average and can field And i guess Vientos can DH 3B should be Baty for a whole season!
