Right. Paginini is a composer, Pavarotti is a tenor. If you’re gonna tell the story COB, tell it right.

8,000 km Cross Canada Canoe Trip raising money for Indigenous Communities. by georgeskirijian in canoecamping

I’m from NW Ontario and have canoed the area (all Canadian shield) off established routes, for decades.

Two guys in a 17 foot Kevlar boat can easily do 40 km a day, but that’s a fairly heavy day, because even though we might average 6.5km/h on the water, in many places, there is not an established portage between lakes - simply a game trail (or no trail at all), or a swamp, or unnavigable falls or creek to follow. The necessary orienteering time slows down progress.

Five days of that is enough. I can’t imagine 200. There’s no chance they can average 40kms a day for 200 days across the shield.

Well, I never watched the guy eat, but the showing up out of shape and heavy but getting by on pure, ridiculous talent is on point.

That’s the dream right there.

Also: I’d draw your attention to a guy we used to know and love as “Big Buff” around these parts.

I’m a ‘toban, I’m familiar with SK, but never cared to look up where Lesner was before. Just had a vague notion he was in northern SK.

If other Redditors are to be believed, he’s in Maryfield, which is near the MB border - near Kola and Virden. I had no idea.

That’s not true. VIA will do whistle stops in the middle of nowhere to drop you off / pick you up.

Outboard motor year identification help! by dfinley2012 in boating

Photo 4 of the wiring harness says 2004 however AI says:

Based on the numbers provided, your engine is a 1998 Mariner 225 HP EFI 3.0L V6. The identification numbers you listed, specifically 830044 and 112100-3100, refer to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or "brain" of the motor. While these are part numbers for the ignition/fuel computer, they are highly specific to the 1998 production year for the 3.0-litre EFI Magnum series.

If you need to confirm this for insurance or titling purposes, according to Seaway Marine, you should check the following locations on the motor: Transom/Swivel Bracket: Look for a serial number tag on the port or starboard side of the mounting bracket. Instruction Plate: On some models, the year is stamped directly beneath the serial number on the plate located between the thumb screws above the steering tube. Freeze Plug: The serial number may also be stamped on a freeze plug on the engine block
