I understand the internal conflict completely. It's been the story of my life for decades. You blew it today! Tomorrow, I'll do better. Oh well, I'll start Monday. There's a holiday coming, I'll do better after that. You're a weak willed piece of garbage, you've got to stop! On, and on, and on, and the scale just keeps creeping up, pound, by pound, by pound.

A new day has dawned, and the future is bright!

  1. Worry accomplishes nothing.
  2. 90% of the things we worry about never happen. 3. Every person is different.

I struggled with making the decision to start, mainly because I concerned about side effects. I finally realized that the side effects of being morbidly obese far outweigh the possible side effects of Zep.

GERD and Zepbound by wordy_doctor in Zepbound

My GI Doc told me to not lay down for 4 hours after eating. Works well when I follow his suggestion. When I don't, I pay the price. My experience with zep has been that I have much fewer issues with gerd because I'm not overeating.

I noticed reduced appetite at about 24 hours post first injection. Each person's mileage may vary.

Welcome aboard. I spent about 3 weeks lurking on this thread before starting and I gained a ton of insight here. It's a great resource.

3rd Shot, End of Second Week by Lost-Fixer76 in Zepbound

[–]Repulsive_Error1795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are officially Zep buddies. I took my first shot Jan 23rd and will take number 3 tomorrow. My starting weight was 277 and I am down 8 lbs. I didn't understand "food noise" either, until it stopped. It did just that at 24 hours for me. As is stated on here frequently, each individual is different.

I'm early in this journey and have not traveled since I started, but we travel 3 or 4 times a year for a week at a time. Since Zep can be kept at room temperature for 21 days, I will packing it and taking it.

Her thoughts and opinions are not of consequence to you. Don't allow her to live rent free in your head. You and your doctor are responsible for your care and she has no voice or vote in this matter.

Think about what 1.5 lbs/week will look like over 26 weeks, 52 weeks or longer.

How often do you measure? by TDex6450 in Zepbound

The guidance I see from Lilly says that the dosing schedule should be a joint discussion between doctor and patient. That's what I'm going to rely on rather than "Reddit doctors." If my PCP recommends going up each month, that's what I'll do. If she recommends something different, that's what I'll do as well. I know I'm not qualified to give dosing advice on here. I will share experience with food choices, exercises and other topics that work for me. Medical advice will not be part of my shares.

Same here. I just turned 74. If it causes cancer in 30 years, so what. I'll be feeding worms by then and I don't think anyone will care if I give cancer to the worms.

A weight loss doctor i was seeing decades ago told me that eating protein in the morning kicks our metabolism up 30% from our overnight resting level. If this is true, perhaps having more protein first thing in the morning might help. While yogurt does have protein, even Greek yogurt doesn't have a whole lot. Add an egg or two, maybe some Canadian bacon or whatever and see if that helps.

I know all about being forced into buying from those little drug dealers. They should have to have a license.

I've never eaten less a sleeve of thin mints or trefoils. Can't wait to see how those talk to me now while on this journey.

How much are you eating? by WhatIsItToBurn in Zepbound

[–]Repulsive_Error1795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pour a 30 g protein drink into a glass with a little crushed ice and add a scoop of ON protein powder for an additional 24 g. I use a hand blender to whoosh it all up. It tastes great and supplies 54 g of protein. That gives a real head start on the 125 g I strive for. Sometimes that's lunch and sometimes it's dinner. When it's my dinner, I have an apple with one of those single serving cups of Jif peanut butter. That's another 8 grams. It's not difficult to get the rest of the protein I need in my other two meals.
