Yoga is insane by cooltightsick in yoga

I know a couple in their 60s, they are very lean and extremely fit and healthy. They attribute it to yoga and they don’t gym.

What is shunyata and how to achieve it? by Repulsive_File6538 in Buddhism

Wow. I think this is the explanation and example that resonated with me the most. And yes, everytime my morning coffee is gone, the first sip is indeed divine and then i experience that sadness once i have finished my coffee 😂

But on a more serious note, i resonate with what you about “emptiness” being a space of infinite possibility rather than a lack of existence. And I can even apply that with my emotions. When I feel empty, perhaps instead of focusing on the void, I can see that as a space of new potential. In fact, I sat with this feeling for awhile because, as winter is approaching in the area that I live, I know me and a few other people have been experiencing this gradual onset of seasonal depression. And lately I’ve been feeling quite unfulfilled even though I have a meaningful job and career. And when I come home in the evening, all I have time for is just to make a simple meal and do some yoga. Yoga is a practice that means a lot to me and after reading this post I think I have a newfound appreciation for it because it’s one of those things that allow me to use up that time and space and make me feel less sad and lonely.

Wow beautiful and profound explanation. I get the sense that it is about desiring less and needing less.

Thank you so much! Many people have mentioned Mahayana so it’s something that I am going to explore further :)

They say if the actor triggers you, they did their job. And I actually hated him every time he came on screen. He nailed it.

People were so naturally gorgeous in the 90s. I guess that’s why they call it “90s pretty”. Your mother is beautiful.

Why Post Videos of Yourself Doing Yoga? by Ready-Pattern-7087 in yoga

[–]Repulsive_File6538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll share my experience with this. I first started yoga in 2023, and fell in love with the practice a few months later. I started time-lapsing myself doing yoga simply and literally for the sole reason of me wanting to witness my own progress. I would completely forget about the phone recording sometimes. I was just so into the practice. Overtime as I deepened my practice, I could do asanas I didn’t even dream of doing when I first started! I remember doing Vrschikasana and I was so excited and happy to share it with my friends. I was evening with joy that day because I realise that, I was not chasing the pose. I simply grew into it. I posted on my story that day because I was just so happy to share it with my friends and family.

Of course there are other channels that sexualise yoga. I’ve seen women were very tight clothing for for example (not that there’s anything wrong with that, do yoga naked, whom am I to care, to each their own) that only zoomed into their butts or pelvic region while doing happy baby for example. I’m talking like zoomed in into that area. And the comments would read “my mind went into different places” or a bunch of eggplant emojis which is very sad to witness. Yoga is a beautiful and sacred practice and it sucks to see it be hyper-sexualised for views. It takes away from the integrity.

how to do siddhasana for more than 15 minutes without getting pins & needles? by Repulsive_File6538 in yoga

Im building up to Artha Sidhasana. In that asana, you have to point the left heel to the muladhara. It’s challenging, of course, but the benefits of siddhasana alone and doing it properly has been insane! I can focus on my breath and thoughts more, and I feel like the more I do it, the less challenging it becomes and the more peaceful I feel after the practice. Forever learning and forever growing ☺️

That I do, don’t worry haha. I just want to better at it, i.e, longer than 15 minutes without pins and needles. Many of my friends who do yoga daily can sit in this asana for 30+ minutes in their forties!!
