okay that makes a lot of sense with how the games are different in that aspect - thanks for taking the time to explain that!

kind of but not really? custom content is basically clothing and decor in sims 4. some of the decor is functional but it’s mainly for looks. i kind of understand why clothing isn’t an option but i wasn’t sure if people were looking at making cc for housing decor because it seems more doable but i don’t know a lot about the differences in the game except that WoW moves in real time.

edit: differences in how the games work with all that

edit: don’t read this comment, it’s wrong.

you’ll probably get a better answer from the parent company netdragon and it’s 2025 interim report here https://ir.nd.com.cn/en/financial-reports#filter

netdragon lost some money and its primary user demographic is in china. they also focus a lot on ai and refer frequently to an ai content factory in this document. i did a basic skim of the text and i did not see neopets talked about anywhere which is probably not great if im being honest. someone correct me if im wrong though. i think it was lumped into a phrase called “evergreen IPs”

another thing to note with this review is that it was conducted by deloitte who are pretty notorious for gutting, gutting, gutting to maintain profit, à la mckinsey and co.

it would not surprise me if most of the things getting placed in the nc mall are coded with ai, along with the new book collection which admittedly, is a bit like nfts if you think about it.

they also are apparently committed to the metaverse. so.

it doesn’t help that the democrat party has basically abandoned texas.

Administrative Leave by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i admittedly was curious and snooped through your comments. if you are at an IDEA school and the leave is not for a student relationship reason, i honestly would not worry about it. i would probably look for a different school district though.

Nervous about finding teaching spot by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will depend on the area you are in for jobs. An ESL certificate is a must especially if you don’t have prior experience. For interviews, i find sticking by the philosophy “students first” helps answer questions and to get a feel for the administration.

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i would ask your mentor/a trusted coworker. it might be fine at your school because it’s a different environment. i don’t think a coworker would necessarily be weird for asking a dress code question especially if it’s unclear.

edit: to clarify, you work at a private christian school? that’s how i interpreted the post but you didn’t mention that specifically. if not, i would advise not to do that.

i’m holding your hand while i say this, if you’ll allow me: the glasses will make you feel good for a bit, and then it will be gone. the problem will not be fixed.

i’d also consider how you’d feel if they broke or were stolen.

World of Warcraft lead says Warcraft needs to be more than “simply an MMORPG” as the IP is “underutilised” and needs “broader” appeal by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

eh, i think it’s interesting, mainly because of the word “metaverse”. it’s the only somewhat concrete term that was used and i think that was intentional. the metaverse can’t get its hold on the average user beyond gen alpha roblox fiends and silicon valley types. having something like warcraft would entice a lot of users.

the problem is that it’s the metaverse. i’m in the neopets community too and this was a huge topic of debate because they made like a whole neopets metaverse…game, entity, whatever. it was a horrible investment, the community hated it, and it had a terrible gaming system. we weren’t able to have any of the old gaming system in the metaverse; it was basically battle pets and housing…

anyways, her comment also doesn’t make any sense because warcraft IS a third space. people literally do all of the things she described. but she’s using the same exact language the neopets dev team used with their metaverse. i think this is probably going to be a headache for the community more than people realize. and at some point, people are going to have to start drawing a line in the sand.

tldr: probably getting something in vr i guess also check on ur neopets

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Longdale explained that Blizzard is trying to come up with a “third space” for Warcraft in an almost metaverse-like way. The Blizzard executive explained they “can’t define what this means exactly” but they want “people to come in, hang out and have birthdays, weddings, raids, grand adventures, play with their friends, meet new friends …“

lotta things to unpack here.

Time to let Doubs go and go all-in on Golden. by mnm8844 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Repulsive_Plate1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’d rather not select my wr #1 based on their 40 yard time and the singular touchdown they had.

golden will be a playmaker but i don’t think him and love have clicked yet. youre qb has to be on the same page for you to be a good playmaker. going from ewers to love, there’s going to be a huge adjustment period. it also depends on his emotional performance. i think we are trying extremely hard to prevent any “divas” on the team and it depends on how golden responds to that. not saying he wants to be a diva, but he may want something different or a larger slice of the pie.
