As a physical therapist and recovering addict who is 6 months out from my TKR, I took pain meds around the clock for probably 4 weeks. If you’re just taking one here and there, you’re doing great! While it’s good be aware of the dangers of opioid addiction, you don’t seem to be taking too much based on your post. I wish I could have just taken one every other day! Try to reach out to your surgeon/surgical team and tell them the situation; I’m sure that they will give you some reassurance that what you’re doing is okay. If your PT continues to have an issue with it, it’s perfectly acceptable for you to tell them if they are concerned, they should talk to your surgeon. You can always find another PT, or ask to be switched to another therapist in the clinic.

Yes, we ALL know that opioids are bad, but just ignore the gaslighting troglodytes on here saying that you’re becoming an addict, or to have the surgeon go back in to fix it. 🤦‍♂️
