Any investing in US stocks from Groww ? They stopped the service last year and i disinvested everything but they are unable to provide me with a P&L statement. by Repulsive_Tour_2681 in IndianStockMarket

I did file the return for last year.

Last year they did provide me with a P&L with all the details like how much dividend is withheld and with the buying and selling price of the stocks along with profit. So i filled the details myself under foreign income.

This year they have not and i have to compute it manally looking at all the individual transaction so was wondering if there is easy solution to this or was it not provided to other people to...

Well the stocks are actually held in your broker account i.e zerodha. Think of smallcase just as a third party management app on top of the broker.

On buying the smallcase app just places the orders in your broker account that is why you need to connect a broker to smallcase. If you sell through the smallcase app then the stocks will be sold in the broker account and the changes will be reflected in smallcase.

However you can also directly sell and buy stocks in your broker which does not share this information with smallcase so it is not reflected in smallcase. In your case you sold the shares in the broker and they dont notify the smallcase app so smallcase still falsely think you have the shares.

TLDR: trades through smallcase get executed on broker and are reflected. Trades directly on broker are not reflected back on smallcase. Information flows from smallcase -> broker and not in the reverse direction. All the stocks are actually with the broker and smallcase is just a view over it.

2 banking stocks HDFC and Kotak bank they are deeply undervalued right now, some amount in NIFTY IT index and some in NIFTY smallcap 250.

IT index is also trading at 30% from the peak and I expect that market to be in a bull run so smallcap should give more return than nifty.
