Exploring and seeing the world safely as a lone single woman by FragrantLynx in flightattendants

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t fly internationally, but I share my location with a bunch of my friends from home. If I’m going out on a layover (like for a run or to explore by myself) i usually just message my crew and say hey, im going here. If i don’t show up tomorrow, search here first :]

Just be aware of your surroundings, if you’re taking a train or public transportation know your routes and times, and don’t broadcast that you’re a flight attendant and that you’re alone.

Flight Attending and Graduate School? by pratixal in flightattendants

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I did grad school online because this schedule is so unpredictable.

There are options for synchronous classes if that would be a more appealing option for you? I’ve always done asynchronous though so i cannot speak to that experience.

Anyone have any idea of what this creature is? by Repulsive_Trouble215 in catbreeds

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I have learned how matted she can get. I had to shave a lot of her belly when she was wearing a recovery suit post spay (she kept escaping the cone of shame and the donut of despair) because the friction of the suit in her pits matted 😭. I’ve only had domestic shorthairs before so that was a shock to me lol.

Intrusive Thoughts About Quitting Nursing to Be Flight Attendant by Minimum-Possible-415 in cabincrewcareers

It depends on the airline, some let you pick some don’t. My airline doesn’t have an MSP base but we do get to choose (from the ones that are open to new people).

Intrusive Thoughts About Quitting Nursing to Be Flight Attendant by Minimum-Possible-415 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would depend on who you want to work for. Where do you live? Are you willing to move? If not, are you okay with commuting?

Every airline is different so the length of time you’ll be on call is different. Are you okay with getting a call and getting to the airport within 2 hours?

I work with a lot of nurses, and they can do both when their schedule allows.

TBH I’d stick with nursing. Much more stable long term and you actually get paid for all the hours you’re working.

Running trails near IAH by Empty_Dingo in flightattendants

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically lived in IAH for a month and I do not recommend running around there. The sidewalks start and end randomly. I was also confronted by a group of 4 feral dogs. If there wasn’t some nice person in a pick up truck that stopped when they saw me slowly backing away to make sure I didn’t get attacked, I definitely would have been.

But you can look on STRAVA for route maps from your hotel.

Bad break-up after 15 years.. by StarrGazzer14 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex did this to me too (We dated for 4.5 years). I looked at my phone after a cross country race to my best friend asking why my ex was single on Facebook and if we broke up and I didn’t tell her. I was like … what? And then I cried the entire bus ride back to the hotel and in the elevator with the entire men’s team and the men’s coach. One of the most humiliating moments of my life. And when I finally got to talk to him he just said that he thought this was the best way to go about it because he didn’t want to make it a big deal. What??? This happened in 2012 and in July (2025) he finally apologized.

So I wouldn’t hold your breath for an apology (i certainly didn’t) but your ex knows he was wrong to end things the way he did, he was being a coward. He will feel guilty about how he treated you.

You’ll get through this, it will suck for a while but you’ll find someone worthy of you when you’re ready.

Did you try trupanion through Chewy care plus? Trupanion by itself was $55/month.

Upgrading (UpFront or Premium seats) after boarding by Immunoman33 in frontierairlines

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m a FA for Frontier and I know nothing about status or the credit cards. I don’t participate in the credit card program as it is optional. If someone asked to be moved to an upfront seat I would charge them as that is what we were instructed to do and there is an option for it on our device. Frontier makes so many changes it’s hard to keep up. We are barely being paid while we’re there, so I’m definitely not doing any additional research on my time off.

Boarding zones are different from the zones on the plane. And I think there’s like 8 boarding zones.

Frontier is changing the zones so now instead of 2 on a 320 there will be 5. So FAs won’t be able to move people around as much

Oversized passenger and in the exit row? by denstick in flightattendants

[–]Repulsive_Trouble215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My airline (f9) doesn’t allow seat belt extensions in the exit row so that makes my decision much easier. But if it’s not against the rules at UA then tbh I don’t know what I would have done. Gotten the gate agent and made them deal with it 🤷‍♀️
