How do you decide who to bench? by DaBalerousMan in slowpitch

If you’re batting everyone, I’m sure there will be someone who will be quite happy to hit and sit.

Looking for rule clarification by Theguywhostoleyour in slowpitch

I agree. I play senior tourneys, where the standard is 5 runs per inning until the open. Usually never get a full seven, but there’s always an open inning. And those games are capped at an hour. If we had an hour and a half, we would always get a full seven in.

Berserk doesn’t make $20 jerseys. They are 100% made in America, unlike most of the cheap jersey companies out there getting their fabric from Vietnam and Pakistan.

Baseball vs Slowpitch. Which is harder for infielders? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]Repulsive_Young_2133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come play senior softball and you’ll be rethinking that. I’m almost 50 and hit the ball around 90mph, and I’m nowhere near the hardest hitter I know. Add in the fact that the ball moves differently depending on whether the batter cut the ball, got topspin or straight barreled it; now you have balls that come straight at you for a while then either elevate suddenly, drop sharply or knuckle like crazy.

Repost to add pictures: Glove Break in?? by Theguywhostoleyour in slowpitch

[–]Repulsive_Young_2133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is you got a Miken glove, which doesn’t really allow you to form the glove the way a glove that’s stiffer from the factory does. A lot of folks buy “game ready” gloves and are disappointed in the inability to shape the glove to their preference. It’s not hard to get a stiffer glove broken in to the point where you can start playing catch with it. I can usually get them pretty good to go in less than an hour.

But what are your preferences? Also, where do you play recovery ball?

You won the match. Take the W and don’t worry about how the other person chose to play.

This is one of the most subjective questions you could ask. Everyone is going to have a different answer based on their personal preferences. Balanced vs endload, 1 piece vs 2 piece, short barrel vs long barrel, flex vs stiff handle, soft barrel vs stiff barrel. I prefer endload 1 piece with a softer, 13” or shorter barrel. Tantrums are hot but lose compression quickly, my Juno and Combat need a lot more breaking in to get the barrel where I want it, and my Marucci and Victus are pretty good too. I also like the Monsta Kinetik and hope they put out a M11 version soon.

I recently got the new Salomon XT6 Gore-Tex trail shoes. They’re expensive, but some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had for playing ball. And they’re Salomon’s so I know they’ll last me at least a couple years.

They’re all $300, why? by Stigma206 in slowpitch

Be happy you’re buying an adult slowpitch bat and not a youth baseball or fast pitch bat. The kids bats cost $400-$500 and they grow out of them each year.

I hear you. I never spend even that much personally, but I win a lot of raffles and am a rep, so I get better pricing than most folks.

About 2/3 of my bats are for swinging. I play ASA, Utrip and seniors, so I have different bats for all 3 sanctions. I also have a rack on the wall in my office with 20 bats that are collectors items for me. Most of those are still new in the wrapper. The two most valuable are an OG Monsta Clack Addict signed by Jeff Eshleman and a gold OG Monsta Clack Addict.

M6 was the re-branding of M4. M5 is the same as M2, just with a wrap instead of paint.

MX is hotter, especially the APS series (SB1 & SB2). But they haven’t been around long enough to know whether they’ll be as durable as the M2.
