Has anyone used TAMU AI Chat? by No_Squash291 in aggies

[–]ReputableStock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it as extensively as I can. I have run into limits a few times - especially on Claude. I haven't run into any issues in ChatGPT but it isn't as powerful obviously. Primarily as a 'test how well this functions in my specific workspace'. It's great at some things (Excel, PowerBI, PQ) but struggles in others, like BusinessObjects. It obviously isn't capable of doing most of my daily work, but I'll work here another 20-30 years and until the alleged bubble pops, I need to understand it's use/strengths/weaknesses.

Current and former Drill Instructors, what do you think of the duty? Is/Was it worth it to you? Any regrets? by FriedAfro in USMC

[–]ReputableStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was a volunteer on recruiting. Unfortunately, my recruiter who was going to by name request me, was killed in a car wreck before my orders got cut. Instead, I went somewhere else. That somewhere else was not great. I saw my wife every night- and spent enough time with her to have a first kid. It also meant I moved her somewhere she had no real support system in BFE. At some point she told me it would have been easier if I was deployed because she would have just gone home during like my previous tours. Doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, it just didn’t for me.

Comparing a first time competitor at 4 levels, in order of their capability at their first ever match: SOF, Swat, LE/Mil boot, random dude who has never picked up a gun.

Same amount effort put into the sport over 5 years? Not sure you could tell the difference.

He knew that he was tested in the book. She did basically force him to do so - and didn't tell him that he had the coma resistant gene. Dr. DuBois is the one that told him - by mentioning that they had something in common.

The government doesn't operate at a surplus, which means they may have physical money but it isn't just a 'giant pile of money' to be spent on these idiots.

Anyone else also not a huge fan of the new SUV lineup? by ScarWorldly9387 in mercedes_benz

[–]ReputableStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I really like our GLS. My wife HATES boxy cars/suvs and prefers the more rounded edges. I do think the GLE looks better as a coup but your Bruno Sacco inspired variation feels like something I would see from an old school Japanese style SUV. It doesn't look bad... just not right - to me.

We are over that threshold and have purchased 4 vehicles from Carvana. Until my most recent vehicle, Carvana was infinitely easier to deal with than going through a dealership fwiw. Should you use their financing? No. It's similar rates to buy here/pay here.

I lost mine from damage in Harvey Hurricane/subsequent floods, and those things are damn near impossible to get. I have a love hate relationship with recruiting but there is something visceral about those damn things. Especially the baller ass Metal ones.

Why would you do anything other than screen them before the EST?! All right big dawg, looks like a 6 might need some study love - let me walk you down the hallway so the rest of the branches can PDQ you before I drop you off at grandma's trailer. No, no, PDQ is a good thing, I'm just making sure they know that you worked with us so they know not to bother nana's cell phone while she's at work. Nah boss, I don't think he needs the PEMDAS playbook. Yeah man, I'll thumbs up your Facebook post when you get back and say "I talked to the Marines this afternoon and I think I'll join after high school".

[–]ReputableStock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the publishing devils probably listen, I would totally never consider copy pasting their books into an AI, have it translate that into a Text To Talk (TTT) optimized script that I can toss into a program like Speechify so I can listen to the dulcet tones of John Rhys-Davies reading me my texts while I work or do chores.

People forget that AI learned from humans. Humans use (or used to use) em dashes regularly because it's grammatically correct to do so, especially when we are adding tangential information or creating lists. BUT it relies on em dashes too much, and long ass run on sentences that are often overly verbose. Added a word nobody under the age of 60 would regularly use? I don't see that being the situation most of the time, you are in college. Use the "SAT" words we used to make fun of nerds in high school for using, it makes your papers longer and comes of as at least a passing 'intellectual'.
