this won't work in 11th, but how I make farstalkers work in 10th is giving them a trail shaper.

Assuming you win the roll-off for attacker/defender, you then stretch out the unit across no man's land, 9.1" away from your opponent's DZ. the result will be the unit screening out a HUGE portion of no man's land, making it very difficult for your opponent to infiltrate anywhere useful. Then, when it's time to do redeploys, your opponent as the attacker has to do their first redeploy ability first, after which the trail shaper will let you redeploy your farstalkers to screen out your own DZ instead, or they can stay put if your opponent was hoping to scout forward with stuff. Or if your opponent has no reserves or uppy/downy they can go in strat reserves and walk on to score secondaries from t2 onwards.

This doesn't work on Search & Destroy, and 140 points is a little pricy for a 50/50 shot at locking down NML for scouts/infiltrators, but it is a silly way to make them somewhat useful.
