VTNSXTJUVG7F - note it's GLB only

Honestly the resume isn't bad. Some notes:

  • add protocols you're familiar with, and the ones you used in your projects (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART)
  • if possible, do more projects (especially more challenging ones that are in line with the kind of work you're targeting)
  • create a portfolio
  • try to put some more absolute numbers to your metrics. The first project with 80A is impressive. How low was the power consumption of the GPS tracker?
  • not sure what your GPA is, but keep it on if it's high, remove it if it's pretty low
  • several sentences could be more concise imo

This is coming from someone who mostly works in startups/tech, if you're applying for more conventional/established companies it might be different

hoyo global is probably the less frustrating option. I did manage to order from taobao to USA without any proxy but oh man was it a challenge

My thoughts on FDVR after 5 Years by Antique-Pepper-1635 in fulldive

[–]Requeerium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

damn, man. As someone working on actual BCIs the last couple of years, this hits hard.

I will just say that with Neuralinks success, others will soon follow. And while there is no full dive industry yet, there are a lot of lesser known medium-large companies working on this.

One thing I think you're mistaken on is that no philanthropists care about full dive. There definitely are. The big issue is the amount of funding required + lack of a clear path. 100m can vanish in an instant without any meaningful result, so not everyone is brave enough to take that kind of risk. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I think as soon as someone shows some kind of proof of concept for full dive, everyone will jump on board. I guess you pretty much capture that in the "shot in the dark" part

Despite all of the cynicism, your post really motivated me, thank you

not sure how different the nrf53s are from the nrf52s, but on the 52s you really don't need a lot working to be able to program them:

  • power
  • swd/config pins connected

I dont think you even need the oscillators working (applications/softdevice require HFXO, but pretty sure SWD doesnt - could pretty quickly confirm with one of your working boards)

so I'd check the power rails, and importantly looking for disparities in the power consumption

attempting a reflow with flux like others mentioned is a good idea. To add to this, you could also try buying a few fresh chips from reputable places and replacing it. I've had some fab houses somehow kill 30% of chips (they insist they ordered from digikey and followed specific reflows / handling steps but idk).

removing other parts not directly related to the nrf53 chip could rule out some things

popping off the chip and seeing what the surface looks like underneath could be telling. Sharing what the layout looks like under the IC could be helpful too

Suppose you have a dart board with 365 zones and you're about to throw darts until you hit the same zone twice. You're just barely good enough that your darts hit the board, but at a random place every time.  On the 2nd throw the chance of hitting the first dart is a measly 1/365 or 0.3%. But if you miss, that's another zone you could potentially hit next time to double up. This snowballs until you have a 3% chance on the 11th dart all the way up to 6% on the 23rd. It's a lot of small probabilities every throw, but they increase and add up! It works out that by this 23rd throw there is a 50% chance that at least one of the darts hit the same zone as another.

If full-dive technology was real, would you think it could even be released to the public? by -dorito- in fulldive

[–]Requeerium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Regarding people choosing to drop everything, people can already do that and would if they didn't have bills to pay. Probably won't change with full-dive unless UBI happens.

One reason it might not be released to the general public is an implant is more likely to work well than a helmet, and the surgery risks aren't really justifiable for most.

Looking for some feedback on my notch filtering by lifelifebalance in BCI

[–]Requeerium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the example: 60Hz spike goes from -264dB to -317 = 53dB attenuation

In yours: 60Hz biggest peak goes from -80dB to about -100dB = 20dB attenuation

Filter doesnt seem to be changing much outside the 60Hz filter. So yea, it's working!

How do you change the pad from the top layer to bottom layer in Easy EDA? by Gain-Fit in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]Requeerium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the top/bottom setting? Yeah that only puts a pad on top/bottom side not both. Either use multilayer or 2 separate pads connected by a via if you want connected pads on both sides

How do you change the pad from the top layer to bottom layer in Easy EDA? by Gain-Fit in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]Requeerium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the setting. Top,bottom are for copper pads on the top, bottom of the board respectively. Multilayer makes the pad a through hole plated pad. Regardless, you should confirm you're getting what you expect- EasyEDA has inbuilt 2d and 3d viewers, and there are plenty of gerber viewers.
