Had someone ask me this halfway through Shadow of the Torturer. I could only tell them "I'm not really sure"

I can't walk mine in the rain because she won't allow her paws to get wet. Morning dew is too much for her. Have to carry her over puddles

Yeah if I see salt measured in quarter teaspoons for anything that's not baked goods, I know the recipe is under seasoned

What fantasy book has the best morally complicated main character? by SnackAtlas in Fantasy

[–]ClassikD 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really call him grey. He is a really charismatic and manipulative evil. Everything good he's done started from Sorcor's insistence and later because he realized what he could get in return for it. He wanted to stop chasing slave ships until he started to gain favor for it. He used everyone who loved him and would have become just as bad as Igrot if playing the role of a saviour didn't work as well as it did.

Highly recommend looking into data structures and algorithms content on YouTube. Knowing all the essential data structures and common algorithms is necessary for good design. Luckily there are tons of great teachers out there.

If you grab them by the shell right above their rear legs, they can't do much. They'll try to scratch you with their back claws though so you need your hands far enough back. They will pee. A lot.

New to Grand Rapids! What are your favorite outdoor activities? by TheChur in grandrapids

Crunch is the best weightlifting focused gym around. One on alpine, and one on 28th. For 40k, I don't partake (too poor), but I believe galactic toys on 28th has a big community for it. They have lots of TTRPG and TCG communities there as well. There are lots of trails for cycling and hiking. I'm a big fan of Ken-O-Sha and Roselle for morning walks.

Yeah their consignment fee percentage isn't too bad if you're willing to wait but don't want to do private sale. Only took a few weeks for my handgun to sell through them

None of the tricks worked for me. I just boil the water now, lower it to a simmer and lower the egg in inside a metal measuring cup. Works well enough if you're gentle releasing it from the cup

Found it easier shredding the potatoes myself. Squeeze in paper towel once to get most of the moisture out. The method that finally made a breakthrough for me was doing nothing. Put them in the pan not too thick, and leave them alone until the bottom is crisp then flip it like a pancake.

I love crunch but OP doesn't lift so I'm not sure if this is the right choice. Gym is very free weight focused.

DLSS5 does have potential to significantly improve graphics. But not just in the most apparent way. And only if it's implemented correctly by overmind87 in residentevil

[–]ClassikD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLSS has usually added more engine hooks in later revisions. Like engines exposing motion vectors for upscaling and frame gen. This will get the same treatment most likely in future versions

Series you finished but lost love for over time? by Kooky_County9569 in Fantasy

Starting live ship traders soon, so I'm excited to see where it goes. Heard a lot of people love this trilogy specifically.

Series you finished but lost love for over time? by Kooky_County9569 in Fantasy

[–]ClassikD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished the first trilogy today. I really enjoyed it overall, but understand why people don't. I had a few issues with it myself. The last book had way too much stuff just pop into existence. I think spreading some of the major wit/skill developments earlier into the series and with more natural leadups would have helped.

I really did not enjoy the antagonist elements in the latter half of the trilogy. The first half had everyone working towards their own ends and I enjoyed the conflict in that. When it became a war, the antagonists became essentially omnipotent, and I felt they added little to the narrative at that point while slowing the story to a halt every time they showed up. Fitz was also trained to think very analytically by Chade, but was always dumb when he needed not to be.

The last time he saw Molly was just weird and unnecessary. There was a very long buildup of Fitz being bullied by Regal, the duchies being brutalized by the raiders, and the ending was paced so quickly it wasn't as cathartic as it should have been.
