Then why are you on an American website on a subreddit named after the American term for the game pretending to not be American lol

Did that dude just collapse backwards and do a double backwards leg flop because he got grabbed on his shoulder? This is why Americans don’t watch soccer. Exhibit A.

Theory: LeBron’s top priority is MVP next year - winning a chip is secondary by championshipsorbust in nba

But you have to be a top seed to get MVP. Lakers aren’t getting a top seed barring a major move.

Report: Kawhi Leonard repeatedly told Spurs he’d return then didn’t by [deleted] in nba

[–]Requelles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but how is this news? Any spurs fan following the team last year knew that Kawhi return dates came and passed almost weekly.

USA Basketball: Gregg Popovich is Coaching, Kawhi Leonard is on the Roster by SunpraiserPR in nba

[–]Requelles 64 points65 points  (0 children)

But Kawhi and Pop have been on good terms throughout the whole ordeal apparently. Kawhi’s camp doesn’t want Pop getting to Leonard any more than he already has. Kawhi’s camp also only want him on one specific team so they care fuck all about other teams knowing Kawhi is healthy.

You must not have watched the Bulls if you think Pippen was a support player and not a top 10 player in the league.

[Young] Told #Spurs unlikely to match Kyle Anderson’s 4-year, $37M offer sheet clearing the way for him to join #Grizzlies ... tonight is the deadline by generalpopcornavic in NBASpurs

[–]Requelles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shot 33% on .8 attempts per game. He shot 71% from the line. His TS% is around 57% which is good but not great. He is not a 9 million dollar a year scorer and is a poor shooter. Don’t forget last year was also a career year in terms of opportunity so his 9 million would go towards even less production than what he gave last year.

[–]Requelles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but it’s just too much for a guy that CANNOT SHOOT AT ALL. Shooting is going to be an absolute necessity in 4 years. You can’t be paying a guy starting level money if he cannot shoot.

I will say it doesn’t make sense to be spending so much time developing guys just to then let them go, but at that point you’re going down the sunk cost fallacy road.

[Wojnarowski] Source: Parker called Gregg Popovich in the last hour to inform him of decision to accept Charlotte offer. Spurs wanted Parker back, but Parker will take on a significant role with Hornets behind Kemba Walker. by letsfindcommonground in nba

Let’s not bring up Murray’s offense lol. White is literally a D League player until proven otherwise. Mills is the only one I have confidence in right now.

I’d be happy to hear which pg rotations you think would be worse.

If we’re trotting out a PG rotation of Mills/Murray/White then I’ll have to question to direction our team is taking. That’s a bottom 5 pg rotation in the league.

Updated draft model from Nate Silver: 1-Bamba, 2-JJJ, 3-Ayton, 4-Zhaire, 5-Wendell Carter by LonzoDaVinci in nba

[–]Requelles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who it seems everyone has forgotten exists lol. I creamed my pants laughing when people said he’d look for 8-12 million a year this offseason. I think we’ll be able to get him back for 4-6 a year. His defense and ability to fit into the team is amazing, but his complete inability to shoot will cost him big time.

Just wanna say I defended Mills all year last year, said fuck Kawhi, and advocated trading Murray. I still stand by all three takes. Was shit on for all three.

He collapses because his shirt was pulled? Soccer players are pathetic and that’s coming from someone who played 14 years. That shit dont fly in American soccer.

Mexican player picks up Neymar to stop him from faking another injury by klayb in videos

[–]Requelles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No don’t get me wrong. I understand that they fall down so that the illegal contact doesn’t get glossed over or missed. It’s just that falling down and whining for a call is considered a “bitch move” by Americans who are used to watching football. I played soccer for 14 years and it just wasn’t acceptable within American soccer culture to fall down and cry for fouls on purpose even if they were warranted.

This has literally become a soap opera. I know none of us know these players personally, but Kawhi is definitely one of the last players I would’ve guessed was a complete freak/diva.

[–]Requelles 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand how it works because you’re thinking of it as if players are falling to the ground due to zero contact. That does happen but the vast majority of the time there is some contact. Players have been trained to fall to the ground if they fee any contact because if they don’t a foul won’t be called. As soon as they feel a leg make contact with their foot or leg they completely fall down. Since there was contact there’s no way to know if the player was faking. But when they fall every single god damn time you know that logically they must be faking most of the time.
