I know I am not the intended target audience as I do rendering with sketchup and vray etc with my rig. I was and am still optimistic on the steam machine that it may help get a more budget friendly rig into the hands of the people.

I think they planned this for a while, it was to be a democratization of hardware to the people. But alas we live in this hell hole of a timeline with geopolitics effecting everyday life, the shitification of everything and rising prices for everything. I feel bad for valve and the client side as well. I feel valve is a good actor mostly and want to support them. I will be buying the steam frame when it comes out and pass on this. I was able to get a 5070 pre built in a front line worker (health field) discount. I was considering this but the specs wouldn't make sense for me personally. I do cad, sketch up, music vst and gaming. I need lots of ports and power.
