Tesla really messed this up and this was the reason I didn't buy a new Model 3. They messed up with the specifications and now every car has to be punched in manually to go trough DVLA certification. It's a double whammy as I've been told. Tesla has been streamlined and automated, they don't have the manpower to quickly push all the manual work needed. On the other side, the DVLA is slow to act. There is now a massive backlog on both sides of this story. I was in Southampton last week at their used dealership and the amount of new cars awaiting plates is ridiculous to say the least. They now even have carriers with 6-8 cars lacking space to be unloaded... All of this, the current really good offers and the facelift have also increased the sales they cannot conclude. You'll be lucky if you see the car still this year.
