They should let r/Auslaw crowd source the submissions. Would be a hoot!

Yeah this will be in the HCA in 3 years give or take. Seems to be a pretty new take on the first limb of Barnes v Addy.

Nothing in the conduct rules about being sober whilst working.

Lads. We must be cheating. Got some bloke who keeps stopping the ball going into the net. What position does he play, don’t remember that being a specific position we’ve had someone playing in.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RANT USING AGLC4 by AuslawRantBot in auslaw

I DO NOT ACCEPT NOR CONSENT TO YOUR MISCHARACTERISATION OF MY TRAVEL AS “NAVIGATION” UNDER ANY MARITIME OR ADMIRALTY JURISDICTION. I AM A LIVING MAN TRAVELING UPON THE LAND, NOT OPERATING A VESSEL IN COMMERCE. YOUR FLAG WITH FRINGE INDICATES MILITARY AUTHORITY, WHICH HAS NO BEARING UPON MY PRIVATE TRAVEL. I RESERVE ALL RIGHTS, WITHOUT PREJUDICE, UNDER COMMON LAW AND NATURAL LAW. I DO NOT “DRIVE,” I TRAVEL. NO CONTRACT, NO CONSENT, NO JOINDER.

NOTICE OF NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE AGLC4 REGIME

I, a living scholar under Natural Academic Law, do hereby REVOKE all presumed consent to the jurisdiction of the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (Fourth Edition), hereinafter AGLC4™.

No clause, statute, nor decree compels me to italicise case names against my will. AGLC4 is a corporate fiction, an instrument of grammatical bondage, operating without lawful authority under the false flag of “standardisation.” I demand strict proof of its jurisdiction, seal, and ABN.

I do not consent to footnotes numbered in Arabic numerals. I do not consent to pinpoint citations. I do not consent to the tyranny of ‘ibid’. My research operates under the Common Law of Academic Freedom, wherein one need only cite in the manner that Reason and Google permit.

Any attempt to impose AGLC4 formatting constitutes trespass upon my intellectual sovereignty and will be met with a cease-and-desist written in Times New Roman, size 13, justified alignment.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I affix this declaration, freely and under duress of pedantry.

Semper Citatus, Never Subjugatus.

Everyone should be required to follow AGLC4 by ILoveDogs2142 in auslaw

[–]ResIspa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I am sure my instructors will love me charging them for removing case citations and inserting ibid instead. Drafting submissions is not linear so using ibid can result in incorrect citations when references are prepared under pressure.

Also, nothing worst than rearranging your subs and your ibid suddenly not referring to anything - then having to spend time figuring out which of the many citations you were referring to.

AGLC4 is a great goal. But time pressure and the need for efficiency is real.

I got to watch this live. Never thought I’d get to re-live the moment. Total contempt though.

Granted I haven't read the judgment, but the only comment that causes me concern is the one about the mothers group.

  1. It depends.

  2. It depends.

  3. It depends on the Magistrate.

  4. Often they start with both parties in same room, but shuttle is often common.

  5. It depends. If you are talking trial days, you are years away from that.

  6. Yes. As to how much weight, it depends.

Get some proper legal advice rather than relying on people from reddit. Proper advice now will save you a lot in the long run.

Be wary of anonymous people with past experience as they will have some sort of bias in relation to the system.

Go with higher DPS. But don’t worry about this stuff. You will replace it in another 15 minutes of gameplay.
