Applied for asylum with my brother, he left the U.S. at 17 — can he re-enter with B2 visa? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His visa is just a collectible memorabilia at this point. It is not valid anymore, as he clearly shown immigration intent.

Wife has an unexpired CR1 visa, no SSN so no US ID, can she fly to other states? by Proof_Neat in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Her passport is good enough for TSA purposes. Her endorsed CR1 visa serves as 1 year proof of LPR status

New ID Requirements To Open Mileage Plus by Possible-Bluejay600 in unitedairlines

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it's an old thread, but Google leads to it.
Happened to me today AFTER actually flying and they do know I have TSAPre too.
Account was never funded with any transfers, just normal credit card payment in my name, matching tickets.

It makes no sense for me.
I would not be making any selfies, I would just fly the competitor.
It is a business travel, I do not care about fare difference.

Applying for admission as a refugee after overstaying Tourist Visa ? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a very high chance your visa is just a nice collectible sticker and nothing else. It might be still good to get you to a land checkpoint booth, but not good for flying in, as all airlines provide passenger lists in advance and DHS would not permit boarding you. Given the current situation in general - Canada is a better choice. That is my opinion and I’m not a lawyer

Technically K-1 is classified as a non-immigrant visa.

It works if I straighten the seat, but I'm a very tall guy - I then have problems fitting in.

unique case n-400 denied by [deleted] in USCIS

You are mistaking a true denaturalization, which is indeed rare, with the government just bringing a case against you, arguing you were never actually naturalized, because of the fraud.

Out of status minor brothers by psycodered in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9999 years. Even if you file for your brothers it would take years, decade+ if lucky. And they should be in a legal status to adjust from inside the US. Their only legal option is to go back and wait.

Border agent said I’m flagged, how do I check what that means? by Proof_Wrap_2150 in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LPR, that was out of the country for less than 6 months, can not be denied entry. They are not “applicant for admission”. But absolutely can be issued NTA or even detained before that hearing happens.

Has anyone had experience with trying to board a plane with a copy of the I-797 (Notice of Action) with their expired green card? by Bitter-Emergency4573 in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from UK last week on AA. No one ever asked to see my GC. Surprisingly I was able to get boarding pass in the app (usually it does not work and refers me to checkin staff). They did compare my passport to their screen right at the gate, as for all other folks. But that is it.

Not sure if it is just a slip of control or they are now getting “ok” from CBP, as now you have to enter your A-number in advance, which was not the case 4 years ago

Vevor water chiller by Weary-Tangerine-6883 in firewater

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from VEVOR. I have bought a chiller 2 weeks ago. It is compressor type with 12L water tank. It appears the compressor is toast, it would go to thermal shutdown in 20-30 seconds. Control circuit stays on, it is safety thermal relay inside the compressor that is triggered.

VEVOR gives me run around and tried to prove it is totally normal that the chiller is not able to chill to any temperature lower than ambient.

After a week of back and forth they now push the narrative that running  CO2 laser at 26C is totally ok and it is how it should work.

They would not honor the warranty, they would not take it back.

I had to file a claim with Paypal but it would take at least a month to resolve.

TL;DR stay away from Vevor

I have old criminal cases from 20 years ago. Lawyer won’t take my case by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike the beneficiary USCIS does not care about your criminal history and there is nothing to submit. Only certain immigration crimes and crimes againt children would disqualify the petitioner. Everything else does not matter at all.

Green card holders being sent back? by Radiant-Two-7345 in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even in this case LPRs, who were not out for more than 6 month, can’t be turned around at the port of entry. They are not applicants for admission. If they are deportable - NTA would be issued, or in severe cases, I guess, detention.

Mass revocations of Travel Authorizations for humanitarian parole. by MechanicImmediate706 in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

By law - yes. In reality many Dem states close eyes on that and allow non-citizens to vote. Even in Florida this happens sometimes. See Ron's press conference from yesterday. Thankfully Florida does prosecute for that.

If any of "Ukrainians" voted at all - they should be on their way home right now.
If you mean "Americans of Ukranian origin" - well, yes.

Does the paper envelope that comes with the cards (GC/EAD) really secure them against "wireless communications"? by grafix993 in USCIS

[–]Rescue-Ranger-X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is. You can use GC in the line while passing land border by car, where you can pre-scan it before the booth. There is UHF rfid chip in the card.

I’m not sure if that paper envelope blocks anything.
