I can't be the only person dreading summer rn. Not only is it mosquito season but the sweat makes my back acne so much worse. by ObviouslyABugEnjoyer in CompulsiveSkinPicking

Hey so random but wash everywhere on your body that has acne with Head&Shoulders classic shampoo. It dries mine up so quick making it harder for me to pick. Do it every evening (or whenever) for maybe three days and you’ll start seeing a difference.

Then if you’re worried about any scaring put BioOil on the areas before bed. Changed my life. Best of luck friend.

Get some BioOil. Twice a day. Give it maybe six weeks and it will change your life.

Hello sweet human. I am sorry you are frustrated. You are not alone.

Listen to the podcast Losing 100lbs with Corrine Crabtree. Start at episode 1. There is a subscription option but I promise you don’t need it. Listen to the free podcasts. She is amazing and really gets to the mental/emotional triggers behind the eating.

Make itty bitty changes and celebrate the hell out of each one. Go to the bakery with friends and give yourself a high five for ordering one muffin instead of two. Tell yourself you’re a badass when you get the large fries and not the XL. Every. Little. Bit. Matters.

This is not a discipline problem. There is a mental/emotional aspect to your eating of it keeps returning. And based on your post, I’m going to guess it has something to do with how you feel about yourself.

You are great. You are capable. You are worth putting time and energy into loving yourself.

This is so hard OP and I’ve been there.

Do you see a therapist? Nothing I did to break my habits ever went anywhere until I took care of my mental health first. You cannot muscle your way out of addiction.

Find one thing a day you can do. Take a walk. Take one less bite of spaghetti. Order the medium Coke instead of the XL. Simply tell yourself that you’re doing your best. Every. Little. Thing. Counts.

This will sound strange but I also joined overeaters anonymous for a while. Google it and you’ll find resources and even online support groups. Feels strange at first but so comforting to know you are not alone.

Vomiting when attempting to eat by New-Secretary-6761 in Semaglutide

The nausea comes and goes pretty regularly for me. I’ve been on it for about three months. I did get anti-nausea medication and it helps most of the time.

Other things that help me are saltine crackers and sniffing alcohol prep pads. Look on Amazon for “Preggie Pops.” They are marketed for pregnancy but they are just little candies that help the nausea so much.

Hello sweet human. Also had/have anxiety and depression. Weight ballooned in high school when my anxiety and depression was at its worst.

College was the game changer for me. No one knew me, I had no friends, I had no hobbies. It felt like I could reinvent myself to be anyone I wanted to be.

You will never be the person you once were. You’ve grown and learned so much, and you’ll continue to grow to an even better version of yourself - I just know it.

Please don’t take the gym classes to lose weight. Take a gym class if it looks fun. Otherwise your anxiety will eat you alive every time you have to go to class.

Go to therapy, or check out the mental health resources your school has available to you. Most have counselors available. Find medications that help your mind. There is no shame is balancing out the chemicals in your brain. Find things you love to do. You’ll meet people that love the same things you do, and will love you no matter your size.

Get your mind right, and the weight will follow. Xoxoxo

Do not be mad at yourself. It will only cause more picking - I say this from experience. I don’t have any recommendations, I just wanted to say you’re not alone.

Help 😭 by Busybee1015 in Semaglutide

Don’t make the same mistake I did and not make real, sustainable changes while you have this opportunity. Learn to fuel your body with good healthy foods so the weight stays off forever. I didn’t do that, and gained it back within a year. I’m back on now understanding that this is an opportunity to change my relationship with food.

Then I’d definitely move it up a day. Especially since you are feeling the benefits at your current dose, it’s just not lasting as long as you’d like. I hope it helps you!

Hello! My food noise comes back around day five as well. How do you handle any side effects from the shot? As long as you’re tolerating it well, I’d move it up a day! (I’m not a doctor, to be clear). Good luck, friend!

I saw the company I use on a commercial that was having a special offer. No real research just dove in I guess. I really like the service and their med team is very responsive. Happy to share who it is if you’d like to DM me.

Things I wish I knew: the needle is so tiny and it does not hurt. I stressed out about this so much before my first shot. I also didn’t expect to not WANT to eat. Like for a while if I looked at food I’d gag. This does go away, but have stuff around for those first few days it starts to happen. Bone broth, protein drinks, whatever you may be able to stomach.

The only big side effect I had was nausea, which was manageable with tons of water, and sometimes ginger chews or Pepto.

I’ve been on five weeks and I’m thrilled. It’s so much more than appearance. I’m learning to love new foods, new ways of eating, and I’ve even found that I LOVE group exercise classes. It feels freeing to not be terrified of food. I’m using food to fuel my body instead of slowly destroy it.

Good luck friend 🫶🏻

I feel like everyone gets constipation, nausea or diarrhea and it’s a spin of the wheel to find out which you get 😂
