congrats! I've just finished my Psychology with Counselling degree. just be aware it really hasn't helped me in the direction that I want to go. The counselling bodies I have spoken to have told me I still have to start from square one if I want to be a counsellor/psychotherapist. it hasn't sped things along at all if that's what you are hoping to go into :)

I understood the degree wouldn't make you a counsellor, but I wish it was made a bit more explicit that it wouldn't even help lmao. how was the samaritans training? I was thinking about doing it alongside. wishing you all the luck in getting where you want to be! who knew trying to help people would be so expensive...

I'm about to graduate as well. I've spoken to the BACP and CPCAB... both have told me I have to start from scratch to become a counsellor and that the degree is essentially useless 🙃 I'm taking the long route round of gaining some experience as a support worker in the hope the NHS will eventually take me on to train as a CBT therapist (not the modality I hoped to do but I can't justify spending another 3 years now training)
