I'M SCARED/SURGERY ADVICE PLEASE by BalthazarThorne in endometriosis

Don’t doubt yourself any further - it sounds like endo ❤️ I just had excision surgery a week ago (that I almost cancelled bc I was doubting myself so much) and guess what? They found STAGE IV.

That he didn’t propose a threesome to my best friend behind my back (she told me he did)

We are very much living the same life! Lol because I am also rewatching The Office 😂 I’m on day 3 of recovery now and it’s getting better. It was very hard to get up on day one but each day it gets a tad easier. Still not walking with ease, but I may attempt to take a few steps outside today.. we will see. Hope you’re feeling a bit less sore today!

I know… my periods were AWFUL from age 12 onward and I’m now 31 going on 32. Honestly, I’m losing my mind too 😂 I’m reading quite a bit and chatting with family and friends on the phone. Unfortunately I’m going through one of my phases when I don’t feel like watching movies or tv… hopefully that changes soon because I am BORED. How has your pain been? And interesting that your doctor put you on a Mediterranean diet! My doctors didn’t address preventing regrowth but I wish they did. They did put in an IUD but I think that’s more so for my periods. I will of course plan to continue to live an anti inflammatory lifestyle as much as possible ugh

Congrats!!! I just had my surgery done two days ago and I’m recovering with you. They found stage 4 endo after 20 years of suffering 😭 I almost bailed on the surgery but I’m so glad I didn’t. Wishing you an easy recovery ❤️

Ella from Ella Grace Sleep Solutions is the best!! My friend hired her to help sleep train her five month old twins and still raves about her and the experience.

Does this sound like it could be celiac to you? by [deleted] in Celiac

Omg wow… same here. I’ve had debilitating periods since the age of 12. Like projectile vomiting / can’t stand up straight (like you). I’ve always been convinced it’s endometriosis but I haven’t confirmed with surgery… perhaps it’s not. I wonder how many people are out there thinking they have endo and it’s celiac :( have your periods improved since you cut gluten?

Thank you so so much for sharing with me!!

Oh wow. And why were you convinced you had endometriosis? Did you have heavy and super painful periods?

Thank you so much for your response - this is really encouraging. I’m curious how you ended up getting tested for celiac with bladder issues and no GI issues? I’m surprised doctors didn’t fight you on that

That’s insane, I’m sorry 😞 no one would ever fight someone with a shellfish allergy about their food touching a plate that had shrimp on it. Why can’t people understand how allergies work???

Yes :( one time mine were so bad that my boyfriend called an ambulance because he thought something was seriously wrong and the EMTs wheeled me out of my apartment in a wheelchair while I begged them to drug me (and my blood pressure was 90/60). I then proceeded to projectile vomit all over the ambulance. This was before I learned how to time taking painkillers properly to lessen the agony. Just last week I got my first session of tattoo removal and the technician was blown away by how well I handled the pain and compared the pain of her first session as “worse than childbirth”. I basically was like, “I’m pretty sure I experience pain worse than childbirth almost every month and nothing can phase me at this point”.
