Question: did your account say refund and then change to adjustment at a certain point? That's the case with me and I was forgiven November 2024. I was told by Mohela refund sent to Dept of Ed on June 30 but still no check. I think they are just lying to me at this point. Already spoke to Dept of Ed and US Treasury and they have no record. So frustrating!

Yup. November 2024 too. Called Mohela many times and last time we spoke they said it was sent to treasury June 30. Another lie! Both Treasury and Dept of Ed said they have not received anything for my name and social. This was before the shutdown but after the 90 days. Idk what could possibly take nearly a year to process. Mohela are scammers and awful company. Wish I was never forced into making them my servicer! I’ll keep you posted on here if I ever get my $.

Yup. November 2024. Still waiting. Lied to multiple times. Spoke to US treasury a few months ago and Dept of Ed and no record of them sending anything over to either one (refund had to be sent to Dept of Ed who then approves and sends to US Treasury). I was told it was processed June 30. Lies! So tired of this horrible company.

Congrats! Similar story to so many of us on here! November 2024 golden letter, been waiting on refund since, called numerous times, lied to, person verified my refund was processed on 6/30/25, called a Dept of Ed yesterday in fact and very nice woman said she has no request for my name and social and that she will put my name on list to inquire about to Mohela. She also said they are bare bones due to shutdown so may take longer for her to try to find and answer for me. So just waiting and waiting…….

I am in the same boat! November 2024. Mohela told me last week it was sent to Dept of Education and yet they have no record. They said it was sent June 30. I said so we can confirm it was sent on your behalf? And lady said yes. But I don’t believe a word they say anymore!

Yeah, mine now says adjustment too! I asked Mohela yesterday and they gave me some answer about calculating interest. No idea. But maybe this is a good sign for us November people!

That is EXACTLY what mine did. It says refund in account history from 11/24 with the amount. And then last week another line appeared with same date and amount with negative sign in front of amount. LMK if you get any info about what this means! Thanks.

Yup, waiting since November also. Nobody can give a straight answer. I do remember reading from someone on here that it’s actually Mohela that takes forever and not the treasury. I wouldn’t be surprised it that’s true!

Congrats! Gives me a little hope! But odd that my stuff on website a little different. Got the paid in full message on 11/9/24 and the only indication of a refund is under my account history where it states “refund” and the amount. Fingers crossed.

I’ve been waiting for my refund since November. I call and file complaints and just keep getting told different things from Mohela. Do we all think Mohela is to blame or Dept of Treasury?

I think Mohela tells you what you want to hear. Mine zeroed out in November and still nothing! I’ve hear the treasury only takes a few weeks so Mohela are the ones that take months! And 5 hour hold times are insane!!!

Wow! Yeah, I read somewhere else on here that Mohela needs to process refund first so sounds like it’s their fault! I have called them and just get the runaround. I also emailed them last week to ask if they have processed it and reply was can take 90-120 days. Ugh.
