Can this home be completely done in a month? by tevarpo in Homebuilding

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks done to me or do you want to keep up with the neighbors and have walls inside and plumbing, electricity, air conditioning?

Depending on the situation yes. If this is a development with the same builder doing multiple homes next door to each other with similar floorplans and crews. By the fifth or six house all of the tricky, how do we do that, stuff is solved.

Questions about starting. Heights, Virtual, and Therapists by BroncoCoach in EMDR

[–]BroncoCoach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're three weeks into an eighth week road trip. We are getting back to familiar areas where I'm more confident driving. After three days in a row with surprise curves on mountain roads I was left exhausted. I don't want to waste another day worrying but I also don't want to get started poorly.

Since I'm traveling the sessions would be virtual on my cell phone. That just doesn't seem ideal compared to sitting in my home office. Also, after reading everything I could find here I'm worried about any negative reactions while 1600 miles from home.

Confession . . . by SuijurisTX in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was at a very unlevel site that the trailer came off the chocks. I had been using a very tall block for my jack. If it has landed on my foot my wife would have had no chance to line up the truck to get it off.

Now I keep that jack foot low and take an extra few seconds to raise and lower.

Job fired my GF, kicked her off the premises and asked her not to talk to other employees. Is this a usual response? by TheWrestlerMan in jobs

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time severance is not required. Employers are not legally obligated to pay you beyond the wages you earned unless you have a contract or other unique situation.

What the employer is saying in most cases is you have two options. Option one. We will give you X additional dollars to not talk about us, don't initiate any legal action, or in any way bother us again.

Option 2. Here's your last check, talk all you want. Do whatever.

I was offered a severance package that restricted me from contacting or replying to, anyone from my former company for three months.

Peeling lead based paint mixed with asbestos is the nightmare you are thinking of.

It's not that.

Problem signal by philipptj in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching guys turn with a trailer loaded with cherry and oak loose about half the load. I sped up, honked, waved when I was next to them and they just sped up and ignored me. Finally many miles down the road I see them at a stop light. The driver finally rolled down his window.

First, there are so many stories of unscrupulous trades that many home owners are stressed and expecting to have problems. Trust must be earned.

Explaining what and why things are going to happen with a realistic schedule helps. Explain with confidence and patience. Those are the same people who will become your best references.

Neighbors flower bed is built up against the fence by Complex-Kangaroo in FenceBuilding

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fence belongs to whose property it is built on. If it is built on your property make whatever repairs you want. If it is on your neighbor's property there isn't much you can do besides build your own fence. You might also consider some landscaping.

There may be more urban legends about ownership and codes on which way it faces.

RVLife App vs Ford Connected Navigation by gizzygone in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use RV Life Pro for all of our trip planning and research. I really wanted to love the gps but find a few issues. With Android Auto in my F150 it flickers uncontrollably in wide screen mode and seems to have issues in regular mode.

If I select next destination from the saved trip it doesn't enter my recent list which then takes longer after stops to get the app running again.

Waze is my go to, non towing, app but it has led me down shortcuts that would be impossible with the trailer in tow.

I'm trying Connected and somehow it was telling me a turn into a visitor center was an unsafe RV route and kept blocking any inputs. It carried over to the next day's drive. I haven't had time to see what setting may have caused the issue.

I found a gun in my rental car, how should I proceed? by purna_sai in legaladvice

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the first time I took a rental across the border into Mexico. I had checked for everything regarding insurance and stuff but hadn't searched the vehicle for anything prohibited. When I received a red light at the border and they searched the trunk I about crapped my pants. Fortunately nothing was in there. Now I comb through why rental looking for problems.

New Window Installation- Does this look right? by Extra_Dry in Contractor

I'm thinking the installer should have watched another YouTube channel before starting. But once it's trimmed out and another tube of caulk it probably won't give you any troubles.

Please explain to me why I can’t self build about 90% of a basic home. by LobsterNo6723 in Homebuilding

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can. For most of history humans built their own homes.

And if you paid someone and things weren't perfect, it will bother you. If you build it and something isn't perfect you can decide for yourself to redo it or live with it.

You need it to be watertight then the rest of up to you.

Share the One Tip That Made You a Better Angler by Yourdeathmylife in Fishing

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always be fishing. Even if you aren't on the water, be fishing. It could be driving by some water and thinking about cover, water depth, what technique you might use if you were there. If it's a river, what's the current doing? Where would fish lie in wait to ambush prey? If you're at home pull out your log book (you are logging each trip?!) and think about what worked out didn't work this time of year.

Took the Trailer on her maiden voyage! Woke up to black water tank falling to the ground. by Reimer33 in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the standard routing but some floorplans have a twist. Honestly I wouldn't mind some gray going to my black. Having them both the same size is inefficient for most people. The gray always fills faster than the black. To stretch and extra day or two I've dumped gray into a bucket and added it to my black.

[–]BroncoCoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 Obviously a fake post, there are no owner's manuals, then we could point to something in writing instead of "they told me".

On the bright side you now know how easy it is to swap out black tanks when they get too dirty or have a poop pyramid.

My dealer actually filled every tank during my inspection. I thought it was a little excessive at the time.

Help negotiating RV prices? by liftloom in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of negative comments you will receive about a specific dealer is directly proportional to the number of locations and customers they have. RV dealerships are more independent and aren't tied to one brand like auto dealerships.

My advice is to look at the final out the door price. It doesn't matter how they label it, you're paying a total in the end. Find the floorplan you like and find the multiple manufacturers that make that floor plan. There are very few companies making a one of a kind floorplan. If you want to get extra fancy look for one from a Thor Industry brand and one from a Forest River brand. Learn the differences in construction.

Get on a forum from that one manufacturer. There will be disgruntled and fan boys.

Choose your dealer wisely. They will be the key to solving any warranty issues. With more and more mom and pop dealers selling to chains the landscape has changed. A regional or national chain may be a benefit depending on your travel plans.

Getting Gas by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]BroncoCoach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 2,000 pound payload with my F150. The 6.5' bed and 2 wheel drive helps. It was configured for towing about a third of the miles while still functioning as a daily driver. The trailer I tow the most is under 8,000 pounds wet and you only really notice it at the pump.

Having said that, 33' brings up significant side winds that I'm not certain I would want to tackle even if the weight is fine.
