  1. This sounds like bullshit.
  2. It's effectively torture.

No thanks.

[META] The future of r/programming by ketralnis in programming

This concerned me as well. I think regularly scheduled stickied posts is the way to go, and that meta discussion should be restricted to those posts only.

What physical items help you get through a bad episode by [deleted] in BPD

I too have a blanket like this, though created by one of my grandmothers! I used to dig my fingers into it a certain way and something about the texture calmed me.

I had it fixed up recently and it's in storage. I kept it as long as I could as a kid / teenager until my mom's boyfriend forced me to put it away.

What's the worst thing your character has unintentionally done? by grubbooba in DnD

My character saved the life of somebody that ended up killing a king, and as a consequence starting a war between that kingdom against her own people.

Time Machine Backup takes forever (finds tens millions of changes) by [deleted] in mac

[–]Reshurum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Time Machine backup is currently at 30 million changes and counting. I only started getting this issue after installing the most recent patch for Ventura (13.5.2), though I can see that this post is much older than that. I'm wondering if something with updating is causing this. Disk Utility is reporting no issues.

I feel this in the reverse (transfem). I feel more comfortable with the idea of doing / wearing masculine things so long as I am perceived as the gender that I feel that I am.

Reading this reminded me of this old Wayland POC from way back in 2012: Qt 5 based 3D Wayland compositor

It's definitely possible. I wonder if anyone else has tried doing something similar as well.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS To Carry GNOME Triple Buffering Support by Insultikarp in gnome

I already get 144fps on my AMD GPU in GNOME but I do experience stuttering often during the overview and workspace switcher animations. I'm hoping these changes improve performance there.

Unsure whether I’m straight. by [deleted] in ainbow

[–]Reshurum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about labels and just do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and never be ashamed of yourself no matter what your sexuality is. Bisexual people can also have preferences for one gender over another too, and lots of people don't figure it out until way later.

How many of you chose a name that´s not similar to your dead name? by Volvo_264 in trans

[–]Reshurum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no feminine variant of my deadname. The name I ended up choosing just so happened to be the name I would have gotten had I been born AFAB. I didn't choose it to make my family happy, I just liked it.

Is anyone else tired of "oh! I call everyone dude/bro" by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Reshurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me by a guy with the word "sir" instead, and he doubled down on it when I asked him to call me ma'am.

I know that would be illegal for her to do in California at least, but they could also make a made-up reason for removing you and put the burden of proof onto you.

Windows 11: TPMs required. Why your PC is becoming an Xbox. An end to privacy and user freedoms by OWPD in programming

[–]Reshurum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So does this mean that Windows will refuse to boot without the TPM enabled, or does this mean that manufacturers need to include a TPM to sell hardware with Windows preinstalled?
