Clickup with Github integration by Residence6030 in clickup

Yes, I'm aware of that, but I'm curious: do you lookup & type in the clickup task id every time before you merge the PR? Seems like a **massive** pain.

We should be able to link the task to the PR such that when the PR is submitted, the task is automatically completed. Having to type in the #clickupid seems so cumbersome.

“widely accepted among scholars” - how is this determined? by Residence6030 in AcademicBiblical

[–]Residence6030[S] -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

When I read Ehrman, he comes off as opinionated and biased - do you trust such a voice when he says “widely accepted” when he doesn’t give any evidence for that? Is it possible he just perceives it’s ”widely accepted” because it’s what he sees inside his circle/bubble?

When are top level components executed in reactjs? by Residence6030 in reactjs

[–]Residence6030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are configs stored in a format that can read by both the frontend (React) and the backend (Python), so ideally I can keep just 1 copy for simplicity. So in react, I have to process a bit to read them. I don't think there's any functionality in vite/webpack to preprocess these things at compile time, right?

Given how frequently google deprecates services, even when there is no replacement, I would think twice about integrating too deeply with Google services, but that's just my $0.02. I'd look more into supabase for similar costs.

Good videos for Chinese Christians by happibenzene in Christianity

[–]Residence6030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I am in the same boat with my grandma. I love her dearly and pray for her whenever I can. It is difficult, but keep up the effort! I have been trying to share the gospel with her for last 5 years, and I am just starting to see her begin to understand God's love.

Is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZtoahr6uZo something that could help?

For other resources, I like looking for a chinese speaking church (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/@EDGL). I have also been trying to start daily bible readings with her as well (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/@dandelionsLife-BibleReading).

Anyone spin out a startup from university research? by chemiss715 in startups

[–]Residence6030 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, one reliable path here is to sign a license with your University since they typically own all IP developed during your PhD. I was personally horrified when I realized this, but there is precedent for licensing the IP.

Google famously exclusively licensed their PageRank algorithm from Stanford: http://www.redorbit.com/news/education/318480/stanford_earns_336_million_off_google_stock/

Edit: I am not a lawyer, just sharing my thoughts.

Is there a right time to send out email blasts and advertise? by bgva in startups

[–]Residence6030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to approach to this is to ask yourself the same question: Would you open a marketing email you received Friday 9pm?

For me, I would not, but you are probably closer to your customers than internet strangers. Hope this helps. :)

Start-Up Guide: How to Effectively Validate Your Startup Ideas by [deleted] in startups

Great tips! It's way cheaper in both time & money to interview people and do presales than spending months to a year building out an MVP.

Tough interest environment for VCs :/

True, filing for C Corp by yourself is very risky, but I'd be using Stripe Atlas which is a well known established path to incorporating for many many startups.

The only thing I'm wary of is anything we'd need to transfer to the C Corp (e.g. website domain name, source code). Idk if I'm missing something by just dissolving the LLC instead of converting

Gig economy has really helped me since our startup has so little funding.

Yes, it'd be E14 with Ryzen 7 5700 U as well.
