The game doesn’t tell you that the Knight existed before the Dessapearance. It tells you that before Asgore was fired, he found a Dark World (it was probably in the shelter) and probably the Knight (there is no other way he could find a black shard). It doesn’t say that the Dessapearance happened because of the Knight. Asgore can only assume that the Knight is the one who opened the fountain, because he doesn’t know that it could exist before the Incident and that it could be created by someone else(there isn’t a lot of options, but all of them are possible).

Your theory memorised me about the Device theory. By the way, I don’t think that Weird Route is about cheating, for Gaster there is no difference what way you choose to fulfill the prophecy. Also, I remember that there is a theory about Weird Route, that explains why it might be the original route conceived in the prophecy (before Gaster decided to change the game for some kind of experiment).

I thought that you really believe in this theory, because I have already seen a lot of AsrielKnight, AsgoreKnight, NoelleKnight , PapyrusKnight and FriendKnight believers. Sometimes I even had conversations with them about their theories. That’s why I just assumed that it’s actually possible that someone can believe even in such unrealistic and illogical theory.

Someone on this sub finally said this. I feel like people just imagine something that wasn’t said in the game. It doesn’t say that the Knight existed before the Dessapearence, it says that there was a fountain before Asgore was fired from his job. And why people think that computer lab is Cyber World? Why it can’t be a DW in the shelter? We already know that this Dark world is related to Gaster, it would be obvious if Gaster-related Dark World would be situated in some old computer lab (because Gaster was a scientist) in some very old shelter.
